You should spend heaps of time with him and take him out to places where he likes to go. Make him feel needed and loved.
Try not to leave him by himself for too long as he will feel sad.
Love and joy to both of you

say i love you grandpa. he already knows that death is inevitable, and that life is what keeps you going. you are the life that came from him and grandma. he's not all alone if he has you loving him. talk about grandma, because he will need to. talk about the fun times. remind him that you loved grandma too, and that you need him even more now that grandma is gone. you will be his reason to pull himself out of his sorrow, and know that he must stay involved in life, because there are others who need his strength.

Just keep him company, try to get him to do things he used to do or likes to do. Talk about the good times with Grandma or what you remember best about her. Maybe you have a story about her you never told anyone.

Give him time, share cheerful moments of the day daily with him. Take his suggestion in your studies/ office work whether you apply it or not thats your choice but if you would listen to him that would satisfy him. If you have time on sundays just go on walk with, buy him magazines & cds of his interests.
Never make him feel that he is old or he is retired.

honey, the best thing you can do for him is just love him , be with him & let him talk when he can. please get him to do simple things go sit by a lake , get an ice cream or anything that you can because he has a big hole torn in his heart right now that only god can mend. i encourage you to spend this time with him because it will truly be very prescious & may be the very thing to pull him thru this very sad time in his life
