Waht are the measuring points on a bike? What siz bike should a person 5'9", 175 lbs have? I see 52 cm, 58cm etc What does that mean?

Usually, those number means the distance from the bottom bracket (where the cranks rotate) to the point where the top tube (horizontal) joins the seat tube.

In road bikes they use cm, while in mountain bikes they use inches. Weird.. Well, on mountain bikes, on full suspension, the frames usually come in small, medium, large, X-large.... :S

If you can comfortable straddle the top tube of the bike with your feet on the ground, then the frame should be ok. Some people the same height have different inseam measurements, so that's not always a good way to measure. When trying to ride the bike, you want to adjust the seat height to where your knee is just bent when the pedal is at the bottom.

Your in luck I'm the same height, stick with 56cm.

if you feet reach the pedals and yor as$ reaches the seat your probably ok!
