http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_history The Bible did not originate from the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Dead Sea Scrolls only confirmed a lot of the Bible's authenticity.This is the reason for the Hebrew study and the Greek study. Ancient languages did have different meanings but you will find that some has the same meaning; example marriage meant the same thing in Greek as it does today. Christos would mean Christ today. Many people today condemn but with the same educational level as our ancestors had. Being educated in all areas and phases is very important. The world of education is at ones fingertips. Only certain Universities teach Ancient History as a class. That leaves everyone else ignorant unless they have the initiative to further their education on their own.

Many people have set out to try and disprove the Bible for all those reasons that you mentioned. No one has been successful in disproving it though. Archaeologically and historically the bible has been found to be the most accurate book around. If you truly believe that it is incomplete and just tall tales, then I challenge you to disprove it. As for the uneducated comments, Luke was a doctor of his day and he authored two books of the New Testament. Paul was a leader of the Pharisees and they had to go through tons of education. Solomon is historically said to be the wisest person to have ever lived and he was an author of some of the old testament. I don't think anyone should ever blindly believe the Bible, but check out the facts and I think you will find that it is the one book you can believe.

To address one point in your question, I was unaware that Greek was practically a dead language. Has anyone informed the Greeks of this?
The Roman emperors had historians. Do some research into the recordings of these historian and you will find numerous entries that reference events written about in the Bible. Admittedly, it is some dry reading, but it is also fascinating as it does 'authenticate' many of the events described in the Bible.
Why should you believe it? That answer lies in your heart. If you look at the United States today, we have a large percentage of the population that is highly uneducated and many people remain superstitious. Unquestionably many are bored, without doubt many are unopinionated and follow along like mindless sheep anything the media (in whatever form) tells them; and, I believe we all know about our own greedy government and most educated citizen's views on it. To quote Ronald Reagan "Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other."
It is my understanding that, at the time the original manuscripts were written, there was no punctuation in use such as we know now it. Just the simple insertion of a comma or a semi-colon can so drastically change the meaning of something; so. in that respect, those who have ordered the Bible re-written and re-written have done It grave disservice.
What is that old joke about the professor giving his class a lesson by having them punctuate the sentence "Woman without her man is nothing." He received many responses, ranging from "Woman, without her man, is nothing." to "Woman! Without her, man is nothing!" In this manner, you can read the Bible and put the punctuation where your heart believes it should go.
All that being said, if you read it with an open mind and an open heart; if you long for truth and tirelessly search for it, if you truly listen, the Bible will speak to you. It is a living literary work regardless of words and phrases having different meanings at that time. It is for this reason that you can read the same passage time and again and it will have different meaning to you each time depending upon the circumstances in which you find yourself when reading it.
It's a matter of faith and where you place yours. God gave us free will. We choose which path we take; whether to believe or not.
FOR DISHA: The King James Version is NOT the original text. It is the version King James ordered written. It has been shown over and again where he instructed scribes to deviate from the version he was re-writing to change, remove or add things he, King James, thought to be true. The books, poetry, wisdom and letters that comprise the Bible were not written in English using "thee, thy and thou." So many people have actually told me "But that is how God talked!" Please research. Read how the New International Version came about ~ that should be of interest to you.

Actually, more than 2000 years ago, people were highly educated. They were no more superstitious, bored, unopiniated or hateful of their government than we are today. The Bible wasn't written by peasants. Moses was a prince of Egypt and a great prophet of God. Joshua was a warrior and the successive leader of the Children of Israel after Moses. David and Solomon were kings. Samuel was a judge and prophet. Believe the Bible because it's true. Because it is inspired by God and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. Hebrew and Greek are not dead languages.

More than 2000 years ago we had Plato, Aristotle,Socrates,Jesus, Archimedes, Arcesilaus... An endless amount of educated people. Know 2000 years later we're surrounded by uneducated, boring, superstitious, government hating people that speak much like they write in babel. With the inability to read or understand much less write such truly amazing stories. Once you go ignorant defiantly can't go back.

Not that I urge you to believe in the bible, because I don't, (or the current one to be exact), but people are still highly uneducated (In many different forms), and people still hate their governments, and people are still bored and superstitious!!

You are dead wrong. Everything the Bible preaches is pure goodness and righteousness. It is evil humans who twist and turn the meaning around to propagandize their own beliefs.

UPTO YOU?WE HAVE A CHOICE,LIFE OR DEATH SPIRITUAL.
THE HOLY BIBLE,KJV.Study to show thyself approved
2Tm:2:14: Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Tm:2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Tm:2:16: But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
2Tm:2:17: And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
2Tm:2:18: Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
2Tm:2:19: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2Tm:2:20: But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Tm:2:21: If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
2Tm:2:22: Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2Tm:2:23: But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
2Tm:2:24: And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2Tm:2:25: In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
2Tm:2:26: And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
THEY WERE WRITTEN BY HOLY MEN,AND INSPIRED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT,FOR GOD IS A SPIRIT.THESE ARE THE WORDS OF GOD,BUT ONE MUST BELIEVE FIRST.
