when you wash dishers and put them away?
when do you do it if you are paying 110% attention to the kids, when they are asleep quitely?
do they think things along the lines of, this person is so responsible, organised, neat tidy, etc, lets keep hiring her?

I love to leave my kids with someone who will play with them and read to them and stuff. It is nice to come home to the house as clean or better than I left it. I don't know so much about the dishes cause people are picky about how clean they are or where they are put and stuff like that. However, if you gathered all the dirty stuff and put it in the sink or on the counter and swept the floor that would be nice. The biggest thing is taking care of the kids, the other is respecting and helping out the mom who gave you a chance at caring for her kids. It is not about YOU when you are being paid to stay with kids. If you like the kids and you like how the people pay, doing a little bit extra lets them know and you will get called back.

I like when my children are at full attention and when they go down for the night I think that is very nice if the babysitter cleans up a little not that they have to but that is great and yes if my kids like the sitter and they prove to be able to handle things when I am gone I would keep her

I wouldn't say that the sitter should do the dishes but I would like to see a straightened up house, atleast clean up the messes that were made while I was gone. Taking care of the childen is the number priority.

when I babysit, the kids are supposed to clean up the house, so I just take care of the dishes. their mother doesnt seem to notice at all tho, but Im sure most people would love it if you did dishes for them. I do it once the kids are in bed and have them rinse the dishes throughout the day so its much easier.

If the kids are asleep and you do the dishes, that's a wonderful gesture! I'm sure the parents would appreciate it!. Although, I had a sitter once who unloaded my dirty dishes from the dishwasher and put them away. LOL So just be aware.

I think it is something you can do if the kids are asleep or maybe when they are sitting at the table colouring or eating. The only thing with the dishwasher is they may not like it if you put things in the wrong place.

I have 2 kids and when the babysitter cleans the dishes or the house I am in total amazement, and you better believe I am going to call her back next time!!!!

I would love to come home to my kids all asleep and the dishes done, house starightened. Who wouldn't??

just watch and care for the kids - thats it. But dont neglect them by watching TV, talking on the phone, etc.

I use to do the dishes, pick up the house etc. when I babysat. Everyone appreciated it very much. Of course the care of the children is a priority.
