Was it the Bible or the Quran....? I mean the final versions.....One of them is sure as hell seems to be the copy of the other.....for example the Prophets names......Ibrahim (PBUH) / Abraham (PBUH)......Dawood / David......Isa / Jesus.....to name a few.....ps....isn'tDavid a strange name for a person who lived in the middle east...i tink...?!!? But the main question is which came first and if you think one could be the copy of the other...and why...?

The Old Testament of the Bible was essentially complete by around 400 BC. The New Testament had been written and was in wide use by the early 2nd century, although the church would not finalize the canon of scripture until the late 4th century.
Mohammed and Islam didn't appear on the scene until the early 7th century.
The Bible wins by several hundred to a couple of thousand years, depending on how you choose to keep score.

Taking a very conservative stand, latest date for the Bible and earliest date for Koran. The Canon of the Bible (NT) was officially formalised by a church council by the end of the 4th century, though the entire corpus was already in circulation in various forms by the first century. On the other hand, Muhammad was given the Koran after 600AD. So there's a 200 year headstart for the Bible. So the conclusion is that the Bible came first.

God instructed Moses to record events on parchments over 4000 years ago. God commanded Job to record events over 5000 years ago. God commanded over 40 writers at different time periods to record His prophecies and events. In all the 66 books that comprise the Bible over four time periods, they record correlating and prophetic events and many are the best preserved pre-deluge accounts. Those 66 books, mainly translations from the Torah, plus the accounts of Jeshua's witnesses, bring light to the significance of the Hebrew feasts. The book brings significance to the prophetic nature of the Hebrew language. That book is the only book that gives detailed insights of the workings of the spiritual world--good and bad. That book, not only names and describes some of the key players, but gives examples of their sojourn on earth. That book gives us provisions for receiving a supernatural insurance policy called salvation. The current Bible is not one book but a collection of valuable records translated as early as the fifth century. Prophet Mohammed's christian mentor, Maimonedes, studied the Hebrew writings. The Holy Koran was vetted and compiled after the prophet's death in the 7th century. Prior to the invention of the printing press, holy documents consisted of scrolls or parchments. Highly skilled holy men called copyists used to copy those scrolls. So the Holy Scrolls--Moses Books called the Pentateuch were first. Then there were scrolls of the Major Hebrew prophets, Scrolls of the Minor Prophets. Between 382 C.E and 405 C. E 'the Vulgate was translated from the Hebrew and Aramaic texts by Bishop Jerome. So in order--the Torah texts were first, then the Vulgate Bible, then other translations and then the Koran.

well just about every religion copies of each 1 in a way. but its really just 'adopting' things from other religions. So all religions have a prophet of sum sort and the stories in holy books also get changed through the years so david in the middle east probably wasnt called david. i dont no which came first though

Seems to me the Bible came first. Muhammad was aware of it enough to copy basic ideas and stories, as was John Smith when he wrote the Book of Mormon in upstate New York in the early 1820s. Smith also took Biblical stories for inclusion in his book. The idea is to give a new religious work some credence by tying it in with the Biblical works, so it reinforces the idea of "one God".
Biblical stores were adapted to fit with the Arab mindset in Muhammad's "Qur-an". John Smith's concept was to create a story that had its origins in and ran parallel to Biblical events and to place it in the New World. Try as they might to create a new bestseller, none could compete with Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf", which outsold even the Bible in Germany in the 1920s and 30s.

Dear people, kindly stop this debate. There is no point in debating this if you feel that you can survive without air, food and water for 1 week. It doesn't matter who wins or who loses but the most important think is to think of practical solutions to earn your living. Building castles in the air and continuing in arguing a typical chicken and egg question does not mean that your basic necessities will be met.

People came first then every thing else. When we were walking the forests nothing mattered to us we found the use of fire, without gods help. We discoverd the use of wheel without gods help. but to conquer the world and call others stupid we want god and in his name we want to convince our self that what we are doing is right. POOR GOD
