what are your living standards?

do you live with your parents?
do u have lots of money? do u save it, and how? i have to start saving money, 5k to be exact

wow, did i pick the right time of day for this question, everyones questions so far are so good, its going to be a hard one to answer

Hi, Dawn. I liked some of your other Q & A's so I thought I would tell you my and my wifes' standards. I do not "work" per say and my wife works two days a week (she won't quit her two days because she loves her job) and she makes greeting cards which she sells on the internet (does very good too!). We own a medium sized greenhouse in Washington state. We grow orchids to sell and most of the food we need. We own, outright (fully paid for) two houses. One we rent out the other we live in. We have 4 dogs and 5 cats running around on our 5 acers. I'm 37 and Erin is 30. We are both savers of money and thats how we got to where we are now. We both have worked in the past (I worked 84 hours a week for four years, she worked 55 per week for four years) and when we did we save as much as we posable could and lived well below our means inorder to save. Now we get to take it easy. There is a radio show we just started to listen to with a guy who my wife thinks sounds just like me. I think his name is Dave Ramsy. I'll bet if you Google him you'll get his web page. He's gives great finacial advise. You should check him out if you can. Anyways, I'm rambleling so I'll go. C ya!

I am disabled and i got hurt on the job so i am now retired. I can no longer live on my own and take care of myself. I live with my mom and grandmother. I make enough from my retirement and also from Social security to live comfertably. I save my money by setting aside at least 100 too 200 dollars a month. The best way to save money is when you go out and see somthing that you like get the price and instead of buying it place that money aside for the 5k you need. Only buy the things you need to survive that meens eat at home instead of going out to eat. It cost less to cook it yourself. within no time at all you will have enough money saved up and you will have your 5k. It will be hard at first but once you do it the first time it will get easier every time. After making your 5k. Start saving again and this time you will realize that it was really worth it and saving up for that somthing special will be easy to do fron now on. I hope this helped.

I don't work because of a back injury.
I'm married.
We don't have a lot of money because we live in MA. But we do have a savings account with ING, interest is about 3.8% or something around that and right now there's about 50$ in there. Otherwise we keep a container on a shelf with loose change and any 1$ bills. It's small, but it adds up.

My husband and I do work full time. Sometimes more than 50 hours a week. I am married so we own a house. We are not rich by any means but we aren't doing bad for couple our age. We are now starting to save money b/c we are trying to have a baby.

I work about everyday. I kind of bounce from place to place, but when I'm back home, I usually stay with my mom.
I have more money now than I ever had, but it's still not a lot. I'm saving now, but will I keep it long? I don't know.

I work every day, because I have the Yankee Work Ethic. I think I would work even if I were rich. I tend not to save. I kinda go thru life by the seat of my pants!

I do not work. My parent are dead. I have some money but I am not wealthy. I rarely save money. Good luck saving your money. End of story.
