Whilst starting to mow i moved my pool cover (which wasnt on the pool), it was heavy and i thought full of water from all the rain recently. About 20 mins later i went back to where the cover was and found a cat with only one newborn kitten, feeding. Now how can i tell if there are more kittens, my grass is about 5 inchs long and I'm scared to mow anywhere in case there are kittens. Im presuming as they werent there before that they were in the pool cover. Can kittens move any great distance?and will the mother go looking for them. It started to storm and the cat ran under my deck leaving the kitten out in the storm so right or wrong i got the kitten and bought her inside bringing the mother with it. When the storm finished i went out with the mother hoping she would go find the other kittens but to no avail. Please someone whats the best way to find the other kittens.

To start with take the mother and kitten to the vet and have him check if she is still in labour but from what you have said i don't think she is. Sometimes a fem cat will only have one baby it is not that uncommon in cats. If there are kittens out there keeps your ears open you will hear them mowwing and if there were and they were alive the mother would have gone to look for them, very seldom a fem cat will not take care of her litter. Good luck

AWWW THATS SO CUTE. I LOVE CATS. EVEN THOUGH I'M ALERGIC. ANYWAYS. MAYBE SIT IN A CHAIR IN YOUR BACKYARD OR WHEREEVER THE POOL IS. AND WATCH THE CATS. MAKE SURE THE CATS DONT GO ANY WHERE. AND MAYBE GO AROUND YOUR FENCE AND LOOK TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CATS. MAYBE BRING THE CATS TO THE VETS AND KEEP THEM. AND MAYBE BUY SOME CAT FOOD AND PUT IT OUTSIDE WITH SOME WATER AND I'M PRETTY SURE SOME CATS WILL COME ALONG. GOOD LUCK. AND I KNOW YOU'LL HAVE ALOT OF FUN WITH THE KITTIES.

Having been born outside, and with the rain, it's possible only one kitten survived. The mother will not let newborns travel away from her, she would retrieve them immediately. Sadly, if she had others, they must have died.

If there were other babies, she has already deserted them. Look under things where the babies could hide, and only mow small ares at a time. Good luck
