i had braces for a couple of years. quite uncorfotable but not really painful. unless you play basketball. don't let the ball hit you in the face.

The pulling your teeth really isnt that bad (2.5). I had the same thing done, and my teeth look gorgeous now. The actual braces do hurt, but only the first couple of days right after they tighten them (7). If you get rubber bands, I felt like those hurt a bit more (8). However, trust me, it's totally worth it. The only thing I strongly recommend is that you get your teeth cleaned by the dentist (not the orthodontist) at least every couple months, otherwise your teeth get damaged and yellow, and you get cavities on the outside of your teeth (but don't worry it won't happen if you brush well and often) Good Luck!!

Well, when I got my wisdom teeth out, they shot me up with drugs, and let me breathe in some laughing gas, so when I wasn't knocked out, I found the ordeal to be quite amusing.

If they don't give you drugs... well, I don't know what to tell you.

P.S.~I remember when I had braces. Generally, they don't hurt. However, for the first day or two after they put them on, your teeth will ache like a *****. Take lots of painkillers.

Heh. Medication. That seems to be my answer for everything.

It differs from person to person. I am very sensible to tooth aches so for me even the first couple of days with braces were unbearable... I don't know about teeth extraction. My friend got it done and she said that it pained a lot but I recommend talking to your dentist about it and asking him if he's giving you any drugs or anesthesia. Be mentally prepared... and relax.

Don't be scared. It's a dull ache for a few days, but it gets better. You can take Tylenol to relieve the pain, if any. Time flies and they'll be off before you know it, and you'll appreciate straight beautiful teeth!

i had 2 wisdom teeth pulled and i wouldnt say it actually hurt it was more uncomfortable than anything. you cant feel anything once the numb you the uncomfortable part is having the dentist pulling you up from the chair because the roots are deep but that didn't hurt either it just makes you feel self conscious

It's like a 4 or a 5. It's more uncomfortable than painful. I had them for 2 years and you get used to them very fast, so don't worry. :)
