6 weeks. If you are lucky. Ask your doctor.

If you overdo it and you start to bleed internally it may well be the last time you ever did some training. Be sure you are fully healed. Minor surgery is still surgery and should be treated that way.

I had an appendectomy 2 weeks ago today, on a Monday. I did my first ride on a road bike last Thursday, so a week and a half after the surgery. I felt fine on the ride and took it easy. Pushed a little harder the next day then did a big mountain bike ride on Saturday. 22.5 miles and 2,660 vertical feet, uphill. Felt great! Did a ride tonight and feel right back to normal. I had the laproscopic surgery, not the regular. The Doctor told me I should be back to normal within 2 weeks, so I was following orders, for what it's worth.

When you can get out of bed in the morning and you dont feel any pain from the appendectomy. Of course only after consulting this with your Dr.
