About 1.086 Billion Catholics in the whole world, about 1/2 of those are in the Americas. In the U.S. probably 1/2 that again but if you add back in all the other true Christian denominations. You're probably back to about 500 million. That figure for the Catholics includes all Baptized believers as of 2003. There are probably not as many that actually still practice their faith in an active way.

I know catholics are about 68% of american christians and protestant are about 29% the rest are orthodox .. christians in the states are about 90% of population .. while disblievers or atheist christians are 40% of total christians.
