I would say yes and no. Dogs have some good advantages, like abilities that make them more than just companions (Police Dogs, protection, seeing-eye dogs), and they have a variety of shapes and sizes for all walks of life. Aside from that, they need more than cats do, like a yard, more food, housing, and sometimes training because they can be more destructive. Cats are more independant. They can stay at home, indoors, unattended and be just fine. They tend to be small, have no other value other than company, and only require a litter box and a small amount of food. They can be as equally destructive to furnature and stuff.

to tell u the truth a dog is better then a cat as they say that a dog is a mans bestfriend.Always remmember that a dog will never forget u.It will stand beside u supporting u more than a cat who thinks that u should support it.

yes!! i think dogs are better than cats. they are so playful and u can teach them tricks. cats cant learn any tricks and just lay around all day. but they are very sweet!! =]
i hav a neighbor they hav a really big dog and 2 cats. and they love each other!! the dog always keeps an eye on them and protects them.

I think they can both make you equally as happy, and one cannot be "better" than another. You may PREFER dogs over cats, or vice-versa, but that doesn't make them better than the other. By the way, I prefer dogs--they love you unconditionally, no matter what!

well, dogs are better than cat [even if i like cats beta] coz dogs can be taught with tricks, guard your house, play with u and all that stuff but cats just lie around and think they're the god of the gods. so dogs are better, they'll luv u 4eva if u rub their tummies!!

dogs are most faithful animal on earth
no other animal can give u so much affection, love
they are there for u 24*7
when u get back home there is someone to greet u.
cats r known to be clever who just care for their needs.
trust me doc u will never find a companion like dog.
i am telling u this b'coz even i had a dog (thirteen yrs old) & i miss her so much.

Yes, dogs are more fun! you can take them for walks, do agility, flyball, obedience and much more!!!! *soz im getting over-excited* Cats eat, sleep and run away! You cant do hardly anything with a cat.
