Does that make God an Indian Giver for giving us something to use but then taking it away(Hell) if we don't do as he says?

personally, i have a hard time believing in a "loving" god that gives people free will, but then condemns them to torment for eternity if he doesn't like their choices. it's the moral equivalent of a guy telling his girlfriend that she's free to do what she wants, but if she leaves him, he will hunt her down and kill her.

The reward from choosing the Godly way is free. So is the suffering from choosing our way. Take your choice. Ain't no free lunch. You either pays up front through obedience, or you pays after the fact for disobedience; but you pays.

We've been given the game plan, game rules. If we don't want to play a winning game; it's our choice. I don't know what more you'd want, other than wanting to be created an automaton.

there has to be consequences for our actions.you are free to go out and steal a car,but jail will be your consequences.you are also free to do what you want, but the guidlines to follow are written in the bible. you can choose to follow them, and try to live up to God's teachings, but the price you pay involves eternity.God has given you free will,it's your choice to live your life the way you want. but,it's not your right to infringe on other people that have respect for their fellow man. we are blessed to live in a free country, but we must have laws to live by.

cause and effect, change are part of life, otherwise we would be stagnate and not really living. you are free to change your mind,go most anywhere antime and there are many people who are not, free to choose to create solutions in your world or become a successful, effective person or be a miserable self loathing helpless wretch, you are free to live in ignorance and apathy or to choose awareness and caring, free to live in moderation or excess, to pursuit, god, glory, gold, truth, good, what ever floats you boat, or to quit or endure you are free to choose to place your blind faith in yourself, the goodness of humanity or the evil of it or in any god you please, every choice has a consequence because actions cause reactions and this is living,no one takes things away for not following a gods words, man made consequences happen, one of the problems some of us have with religion is some do not take enough responsibility or accountability for their lives or outcomes of their decisions and instead blame it on their personal god, this is ineffective behavior which only produces negative consequences

Thats a really good question. I'm wondering if maybe its all about asking for forgiveness. And that if we do make bad choices, if we learn from them.. instead of making them over and over again. Because as humans no matter how hard we try, we will always be sinners, if we didnt sin... then his death would be taken in vain.

Yes,for sure. Reminds me of an Atheist bumper sticker that said
"HELL- THE ULTIMATE BLACKMAIL,HEAVEN- THE ULTIMATE BRIBE".
It's like a hostage taker making you do what he/she says or be
tortured and/or killed. What kind of free will choice is that?
Too bad the "believers" don't see that.
