Most of the time, ringworm can be treated with a topical antifungal. Many of these are available at your local drugstore without a prescription: Micatin, Tinactin, Monistat-Derm, Lotrimin, and Lamisil. Please note, if the topical does not work, then see your doctor as you may require antifungal pills instead and those are by prescription only. Also, if you ringworm is widespread, skip the topical and go right to your doctor.

Please be aware that,. while you will see improvement in a few days (if the topical is working), it is imperitive to follow the directions exactly! Do not stop using it early just because you think you are cleared up! If you stop treatment before the recommended 2 or 4 weeks (depending on the product), your rash will come back.
