I am so sorry, I pray that your son is OK. The driver who hit your son is responsible for all medical costs. Now, that he has no insurance, you may end up going to court. I certainly hope he tries to make arrangements with all parties that are concerned(hospital, doctors, pharmacy) Do you have any health insurance? If not do you have any medical payments on your automobile policy? If you have either or both, you could file it with those companies. I agree with your wife, taking a baseball bat to the guy is not going to do anything, but get you a night or two in the state's finest hotel! Then he could sue you, because if he doesn't come up with the cash, then you might just have too. Or write it off, and just be grateful your son is ok. Keep receipts for everything that your son needs, the gas you use to take him back and forth to the doctors, the drug store bills, anything you have to buy or do for your son because of his injuries keep details records of. Remember don't be going after the louse unless you want to spend a couple of days away from home, and be sure you don't drop the soap in the shower when you are the state's guest....lol.....God bless us all............

You should have uninsured motorist policy under your insurance most insurance companies have this now. Your insurance covers him for now and then they go after him. Unless you have no insurance then talk to the police officer about victims compensation if they would cover it. Call an attorney if you feel the guy can pay for what he did, but if he didn't even have car insurance he might not have any way of paying for the injuries. Did he get arrested?

Your health insurance policy will need to be used. I would get an attorney and take measures to collect from the uninsured motorist. Hope your son makes a full and speedy recovery. Once you get a judgment against the driver and they still do not pay you can have their driving licensed revoked. They will stay revoked until they pay the damages. Best of luck.

Your son has to pay (or you if he's a minor), unless you want to sue the driver and garnish his wages. I would get a lawyer to handle this if the medical bills are astronomical. If your son has health insurance and it's all covered by health insurance, I wouldn't pursue the driver, because he probably doesn't have any money anyway.

Go see a Lawyer. There is a scheme were you can make a claim against non insured drivers. Also check out Criminal Injuries board. As driving wihout insurence is a crimnal offence.

TD has it in the first answer.
Your sons Insurances pays then the insurance co sues the other driver, called Subrogation. Your son, ( or you if he is a minor), can sue for any damages the insurance does not cover.

Whoever is at fault is responsible for payment. Assuming the driver was at fault, he will pay. The fact he has no insurance is beside the point, he would still be responsible. If your son was at fault, then he will not have to pay.

You will have to cover for the medical bill for now until you get a lawyer to take care of the situation. Obviously, the driver can skip town and nowhere to be found since he could go to jail.

Unfortunately , you.
However you can sue the person who hit your son and see if you can get a settlement.
Look in your Yellow Pages and find an attorney that handle cases like that. They normally do it with no charge until a settlement is reached.
I'm sorry. I hope your son is OK. God bless!
