When you call the police you can explain the situation and they will keep the call "anonymous." The police will come to your door and say they had a complaint about a disturbance and a child possibly in danger. You have to do this the next time it happens. Your brother's life and/or future self esteem is very much at stake. I know you are in a terrible situation but just the fact that you asked tells me you will do the right thing- you already knew the answer.

Laws vary from state to state and county to county, but most of the time the police will remove one of the parties, (usually the aggressor), and place them under arrest, book them, and then release them with a court date at a later time.
If the agressor is arrested and only underaged children are at the residence without an adult to come and be with them or to take them in, they will usually contact social services to come and take the kids into state custody until the issue is resolved. But they usually only do that when there is no one to come and be with the kids.
In most jurisdictions, a violent altercation is considered "domestic violence" when there is a co-habitating arrangement such as family members, boyfriends/girlfriends, wives/husbands. If the two parties reside at the same residence, it's considered a domestic violence issue and those laws kick into effect. Usually requiring someone be arrested.

it's a possibility that the police would arrest your father. They would make sure you and your brother are safe. Where is your mother? You need to find someone, and adult you can trust and talk to them. Good luck and God Bless You.

Your dad will go to jail, and most likely go to court the next day. Then she will let him come back home like most women do. It's a horrible cycle....
