Smokers will sooner or later get all kinds of diseases related to them lighting up in the first place. Taxpayers and insurance companies shouldn't have to pay for the treatment of smokers who get these smoking related diseases. And if we banned smoking, there's much money saved and fewer getting sick.

To get people to stop buying cigarettes, we can require the 400 chemicals in cigarettes be made available to the public, the federal govt can put a 500% sales tax on cigarettes (to pay for health care), smoking can be banned in all public buildings.

Just like nudists can only be naked in their home or at a nudist colony, smokers should only be allowed to smoke in their homes or at a smoker's colony.

I think they should be, but it'll never happen. The tobacco companies make too much money and it employees too many people, plus the effect it has on the pharmaceutical companies and doctors when these people start getting cancer or emphysema. It's a money maker.

And when you make them illegal, might as well make soda's, alcohol, potato chips, and everything else that has chemicals. Look at the people who die of obesity in this world from being junk food junkies. As for the taxes, over 60% of the price of cigarettes are TAXES, so smoker pay their own taxes, and pay the price health wise, it is the smokers choice, not yours or anyone elses. This is still a FREE WORLD. And if you take everything off the market that causes cancer or any other disease, there wont be much left to buy. And next time you get a prescription drug, check the side effects in it, you will be surprised at how many people actually die from prescription drugs or the side effects on them, but yet there are others that those drugs saved their life. Speaking first hand, a prescription caused tumors in my cousins brain, yes TUMORS, it was one of the side effects. But being a transplant patient he had to take it. The other medicine they put had to put him on had more side effects than the other one did. But he has to take them or DIE! So go ahead and lets just take everything that causes diseases off the market.

I personally wish tobacco products would be illegal. I have asthma and all thes cigarettes are literally killing me. Everyone I love smokes and I know eventually they could end up dead from something they feel they need every day. And it could also be the cause of my death in the long run. I think it's cruel how people will sell a product knowing it will get people addicted and possibly kill them just to make money. The world is becoming so crazy...

I think people should be allowed to be naked wherever they want - nudism is NOT a health disease.

But I do believe that smoking needs to be outlawed, as well as junk food. Did you know that Kraft and Nabisco also have shares in the Philip Morris tobacco company?

The world would be in much better shape if everyone was a vegetarian, non-smoking nudist. Think of the earth's resources that we would save.

Curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid git.

Yes it should. I understand people believe that they are in charge of they're own body, but they are showing no capacity of caring for it.
A lot of ppl think that bad things are not going to happen to them and that is a stupid and immature point of view. Some don't care about themselves enough to have the courage to stop smoking. I think the government should act like the big ballsy and oppressing force they are and definitely make them illegal.
This is not an issue of freedom, but about taking care of others and their being, knowing that they are stupid enough to harm themselves and not care.

Why should they be made illegal?

Then they should ban Fried Chicken Wings too, because they're not healthy too.

I think smoking should be outlawed all together. Cigarette companys should be closed down by the government and whatever money they have be taken to pay for better health care

Nice thought, but not practical for tons of reasons. It is hard to believe that any reasonable person would still want to smoke knowing the statistics for death and serious illness caused by cigarettes.

They could make it illegal but it would be just like pot... they wouldnt do anything to the people who still did it. But hey, if people want to do it, just look at them and laugh because they will die before you anyway. and sound and look a lot older than they really are.
