Age 15, I made my own based on my own observation of how much sleep I needed. My mom would nag me though and I would work out a time where she and I would agree. I usually went to bed by 10:30. sometimes 11pm. (my "curfew". She didn't really ever have a curfew. She just wanted me in at respectable time and when they would go to bed she wanted me to be home. She was more concerned with who I was with and where). I would get up at 6:30 to get ready for school, so I didn't want to be with friends late.

Weekends, I would need to be in my room by Midnight til I was a senior, then if I went to bowling on sat nights (lasted til 2am) she would be ok as long as I called when I was there, during and before I came home.

I wasn't the type that got in trouble so, she gave me some slack. Yet had a tigher protective rope on me cuz my older siblings mess up a lot, which caused me, the youngest, to get alot of the strictness.

All teens mature at different ages. Trust is a major factor in determining curfews. Also, knowing where she is going and who she is with is important. I always used a variable time scale, school nights, weekends, concerts, ect. Giving time to get a soda or an ice cream after a movie will gain any parent points with their teen and relieves stress on kids to get home before "curfew". Communication with your teen is #1. LISTEN!!

In Illinois the curfew hours are:
10:30pm - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

11:30pm- Friday and Saturday.

This includes any and all under the age of 16 !

I think kids under the age of 18 should be home by 10:30pm. There are too many things happening out there !!!
And bullets do not have any names on them.

curfew or bedtime? I always thought curfew meant the time a teenager has to be home when they are out of the house.

On a school night, I would say 9. On the weekends, I think it matters on the child and how responsible she is. But I'd say probably 11 - 11:30.

Curfew for what, please specify. wherther it is for the guys or school or college. I suggest that in any case there should not be any curfew on girls of any age. But put your good thinkings and good habits in her mind so that she will not do any bad things.
