i had my wisdom teeth removed 2 1/2 weeks ago and there is like this strip of skin that prohibits me from opening my mouth all the way. it's on both sides and when i open my mouth really wide, it feels like it's about to rip. i had my wisdom teeth cut out by an oral surgeon. is it supose to be like that or did he sew my skin too tight?

Its normal. You mouth has just been through a horrid experience. I would say wait about a week and be careful. If it still continues, return to your dentist.

you'll probably be ok, just give it more time. When I had my wisdom teeth removed I was in a coma from a car accident and the oral surgeon decided to just remove them as he had to operate on my broken jaw anyway. By the time I came out of my coma, everything was healed but my mouth was still wires shut for a couple months. The mouth being wired shut from a broken jaw is no fun, getting through airports now is no fun either as I have titanium in my arm, leg, and in 6 places in my lower left jaw. I'm bionic lol

Ouch! The military just used a chisel and hammer on mine and cracked them all out in pieces. I recovered in 2 weeks, 4-weeks for the holes to seal.

Never heard about the stitching thing, better go get it checked.

I think you need to make another appt. with that doctor again...or make an appointment with your regular dentist to find out exactly what is going on with your mouth and how it is healing after the extractions...and maybe they can give you some antibiotics and pain meds to help ease the healing process....hope this helps.....good luck sweetie.

something is not right for sure. I would call and make an appt. to get the surgeons professional opinion.

may be you have either some adhesions or infection. in any case you go back to the same surgeon to sort this out for you.

Eww, that doesn't sound too good. You should definitely go tell the surgeon about it.
