see i can play alright, i basically have the rules and everything down, i played once last year and im just starting off with a new year as a sophmore at a small school and the thing is i dont know how to spike, i cant get the steps down for anything!! and my serves are ok im getting better, but i hate not being able to dig, or spike and just be good all around with the ball and get controll!! and advice please?!?!?

go to vball camp..... it sure helps....... ive seen it trust me... i had this friend who didnt play at all... the only thing he was good at was blocking... the following year he was hitting 10 footers and some 5 footers so yeah it helps a lot .... ask your coach about volleyball camp he can tell you were to find one....

well You got the most important thing down and thats serving without serving you are giving the other team points now for the digging you need to work on fast feet I suggest like running through a ladder or playing with reaction balls now spiking I would say just practice wacking that ball like it's the head of someone you hate and see what you get

Let your coach know , in private, about your enthusiasm for the game and that you'd really like help on those points! Then once you learn, dont forget to be a team player! The best thing you can do to help your team is to let each player do their part, and also showing good sportsmanship! Meaning, don't get frustrated when your loosing, and don't let your team mates get frustated either! It's even hard for coaches sometimes! So show that your a leader, and take the steps to learn and work hard and you'll progress into a leader in life as well! You already show a passion for the sport! And that is number one!

Ok, well, with your spike. You start with one big step from the 10 foot line. If your approaching from the left, you'll start with your left foot and if your approaching from the right you start with your right(if you hit with your right hand). Then step with your oppisite foot and plant it firmly slanted toward the direction of your hit. So, if you were approaching from the left you would step with your left the with your right facing the right. This is to stop your momentum. Then bring your other foot up and jump. Don't forget to swing your arms back, then up during your steps. Then hit the ball with your flat plam and snap down.
With your digs you need to watch the hitter's feet to see where they hit it.
This is my second year playin, as a sophmore at a small school too, but I hope this helps. It also takes dedication and practice but you'll get it! : )

well, I am a player like you ,good and fantastic first i thought that I've never can be an excellent player, but i experienced and realized that I can and succeeded by practicing,by having self confidence ,by believing my self and eventually by saying to myself that i can be best . I don't know English well but I hop you could get my scope.another think is to know you are playing in a team and don't forget that you are not alone.at the end good luck.

digging can be one of the easiest things to do once ya know how to read the hitter. the worst thing to do is swing your arms. keep your arms out there and absorb the impact of the ball. watch the hitters shoulders at all times, when you see them turn, tahts where the ball is heading. always use your legs when passing, never swinging.
just be patient and it will come.
