fasttrack,
Christians ought to have their eyes on Christ. He's the one that was perfect. If even one part of the Law (as in the Ten Commandments) is broken, you are forever condemed. That's it. There is no middle ground. If youeven have lied, lusted, or doubted God, you are condemned forever.
That's why Christ established the new Law, the Law of Faith. Since Christ fulfilled the Law, He is the focus for those that believe Him. No one else could do what He did.
So it is by faith we are saved.

You just might keep all the ten commandments and do all the morals and everything and be an unbeliever, you're still not a Christian. For if the ten commandments would've saved you, Jesus wouldn't have had to die. Then you'll throw down all your earthly possessions, all your fandango ideas, all your dancing, your immoral living, and all the things that you've thought up in your own self, that you go to church, and your new rules, your ten commandments, your non-meat eating, and all these things, you lay it aside. Here are ways that people try to say, "If I live the golden rule, or keep the Ten Commandments, or stop eating meats, or some religious acts..." which is all right, if they want to believe that. God, through Moses, gave them the ten commandments, and they taken those commandments and run them out into different sects and so forth like that. It's the only Book that Christ wrote Himself of the whole Bible, the Ten Commandments That was God, the Angel of the Covenant. Come down on the mountain, the whole mountain caught fire; fire flew from the mountain, and wrote the Ten Commandments. No matter if a man don't drink, don't smoke, don't do these things, never said a bad word, keeps all the ten commandments; he can still be a black sinner, just as rank as he can be. Honest-thinking people believe that if they are brought into a certain condition, or a certain place, or to make a certain pledge, or something like that, that that's all God requires--keep a commandment, or live by the ten commandments, or something like that, do some good deed, social turn, give the neighbors something. I appreciate you keeping the ten commandments. People was just living any way they wished to, so the schoolmaster, the law, was, the Bible said, to bring people to recognize that it was wrong, so He gave them the ten commandments. That Pillar of Fire set the whole mountain on fire and a Voice spoke out of there, and God gave the Ten Commandments. He wrote the Ten Commandments with His own finger. EXODUS 34:28; DEUTERONOMY 4:13

The Ten Commandments are rules given to us by God. If we followed those rules there would be no war, people everywhere would get along with each other and our problems would all be solved.
The Commandments were handed down during a period of great stress and near anarchy.
Christianity and the Muslim religions also began during periods of great stress and near anarchy.
I wonder how many other religions began in such periods of time.

it's actually common amongst christians to believe that all other religions are lacking compared to christianity.

I know one who does.
I even follow most of them, and I'm an atheist. I would just rather be a civilized person.

It is all based on whether people are truly sold out to Jesus and his teachings. Most people are weak and lack self discipline.

Ok, first there's no question. Second, what was the sentence before the question mark? Can't reason it out.
