I am Christian, and we believe that "home" is with the Lord. Life here on earth is only temporary, and these bodies we have are only shells.
God Bless : )

Nobody knows for absolute certainty although many profess to. Each of us will certainly discover the real truth upon our deaths. Just as Nostradaumus' prophecies are scoffed at by some, misunderstood by others, so too is the Bible. So, I guess there is life after death if you believe there is and if it is believed that there is nothing, then that is fine for those who trust in that. For others, the belief is that we'll come back again, perhaps as animals, insects or other people, recycled again to learn lessons we didn't seem to grasp in our other life (lives).

I believe there is indeed something beyond life, however, I certainly don't think that I nor anyone on earth has the right, ability or profound knowledge to be able to confidently state as a certainty that that's the case.

The man asks, "Do you know what disillusionment is? Not a miscarriage in small unimportant matters, but the great and general disappointment which everything, all of life, has in store?" He tells how, as a small boy, the house caught fire; yet as they watched it burn down he was thinking, "So this is a house on fire? Is that all?" And ever since then, life has been a series of disappointments; all the great experiences have left him with the feeling: "Is that all?" Only when he saw the sea for the first time, he says, did he feel a sudden tremendous craving for freedom, for a sea without a horizon... And one day, death will come, and he expects it to be the last great disappointment. "Is this all?"

Brian,
"is this life all there is?"
NO!
I hope you are not depressed. I used to go 'round on this subject in my head before I became saved. I was soooo depressed. Thinking that I was just going to die and that's it.

Then I found out that God made us to have a relationship with Him. He intended for that to still happen. There was just a period of time that is between now and when we could commence that relationship later.

In the meantime, we have an ability to get a part of the that relationship back. So while we are here, we put our trust in Him and He gives us life through the Spirit of Him in order to get to know Him in advance.

If you are having a lot of issues, you can get to God. If you wish that you could know Him, He is calling you to know Him. Those that want no part of trying to find Him are not being called to Him. This concept is totally Biblical.

So I hope that this helped.

I would say that no matter what your beliefs that once any of us are gone from this life that there has to be some other state of being but what that state may be does depend on what your beliefs are and since no one has actually gone beyond this life and come back to tell of it we can't say for sure what life after this consists of but with all the struggles a normal lifetime in this life consists of let's hope that whatever any of us believes is after this one, that it's a good and happy one.

Whaddya mean by "this life"? Where do you live? How much money you got? Have you tried *everything* yet? Lived everywhere yet?

20000 years isn't enough to experience all the different experiences in this world. If you're feeling shut in, think about trying new things. "Variety is the spice of life" fo shoah!

I was looking at my life table since I am Hindu and I've been a tiger, a tapeworm, an ox, and now I am me. Next I will be a football, then a tree. I dread the next lifetimes.

if you believe it is then sure. But if you believe there is another life after this then, that's your prerogative. Some people believe they will live for eternity with their families. Other people believe once they die, their bodies are gone and that's it for them. It just depends on who your asking. Me, I believe I will live with Jesus after my body dies. My spirit will be in Heaven with Jesus, our Lord, Our Savior!

This world belongs to GOD and he will be the judge of what happens to this world. After all, HE created it, he can chose to end it! at anytime! so watch out! Say your prayers! and just live to love, love to live, live for GOD!.I am!
