I have had a sore throat for the past few days with the flu , so I can tell you first hand, what I found really nice,
and that was Ice cream ,
or a thickshake,
probably not the best healthy wise, but certainly went down well :)

You do not want to eat dairy products of any kind when you have a sore throat.
Soup (not cream soup) is good for a sore throat, so is jello. Throat Coat tea is really good, you should be able to find it in your supermarket. Regular tea is also good.

soups and ice cream.... the best thing though is to drink some very strong lemonade which numbs the throat a bit, sweeten it with some honey
