I get some movies.rar. How I can see it? What is rar ? Is it different in comparison with any others (mpg,wmv ... for examples) ?

.rar is a compression utility like .zip you need software to uncompress it like WinRar

do a google search for "winRAR". it's a zipping program that works very well. the .rar files are the winrar files.

.rar will have to be converted to MP4 to see the video correctly.
