They are called floaters. Almost everyone will have some at some point in their lives. As we age, we tend to get a few more of them. Also, near-sighted people tend to have more than others.
They are just little bits of tissue floating around in the liquid part of your eye ball (the vitreous humor). They are not dangerous or a cause for concern, UNLESS you suddenly get a whole pile of them that weren't there before. In that case, you need to get to an eye doctor to check your retina in that eye.
But a few in each eye is completely normal.

I agree with Misty. A migraine was my first thought. I got these for a while with no further symptoms and then later started getting them just before I'd get a horrible migraine. Once they all closed in and I lost much of my vision until the migraine was over. Another possibility is a detached retina...although this tends to give more of the effect of a lace curtain. It could also just be errant white blood cells floating over your eye. For the first two cases I would definitely see a doctor. The last one is fairly normal and common. :)

I use too but have since gone blind.... NO fooling around see a doctor before you can't "see" anything.
PS the small dots are normal but the lines are blood that has ruptured from the retina maybe even detached. It can be fixed if you get to the doctor right away ... I didn't.
Good Luck

Yes some people do.As a layman I know it is due to some blood particles entering into eye liquid better to check with eye specialist.
