I'm a stay-at-home mom to a 6 month old. She's just started freaking out when ever I leave her sight. She isn't even happy with her Daddy holding her. It has to be me. Any suggestions on how to at least get her to be okay with daddy while I try to cook dinner, go pee, etc?

It is a phase that will pass. Most infants go through it--they will only calm down if they're with their mother. One of my friends literally could not eat a meal in peace because her infant daughter would cry and scream when separated from her.

The good news is that it will pass.

As for what can be done about it--find something the baby really likes, and have Dad distract her with that while you are cooking, peeing, etc. My friend's baby loved the range-hood fan, and so I would hold the baby near the fan so she could watch and listen to it while my friend ate a little dinner. Plus, I was just extremely patient and reassuring. The baby was effectively distracted for a little while--maybe 10 minutes. It wasn't an eternity, but it was better than nothing.

Good luck. You'll get through it. As I said, it is a normal phase.

All babies go through this phase, they don't want anyone else to hold them but their mother's they fuss whenever someone else in the family tries to care for them. Just let her fuss, make sure she is within the sound of your voice and reassure her that it's OK, you're still there. This phase will pass in a couple of months.
