Jews and Arabs both originated from the tribes of Israel so they are family actually. Why do they fight? Because the Arabs say that the Jews stole the Palestinians homeland whilst the Jews say that Palestine was always their ancient homeland. Jerusalem is the site of King Solomon's temple and is claimed by the Jews. The wailing wall is supposed to be one of the remaining walls of the temple and where Jews go to pray. The same site is on of the holiest in Islam being from where Muhammad, apparently ascended to heaven and is occupied by the Muslim Temple referred to as the Dome on the Rock. The site is also important as this is where, apparently, Abraham was going to sacrifice his son to God. So Jerusalem is claimed as being the most holy place for both Arabs and Jews and they find it hard to share.
Israel is the site of the holiest places for three religions, the Jewish, the Christian and the Islamic. If you ever go to Jerusalem you might appreciate why many people want to have nothing to do with religion. Apart from the Arabs hating the Jews and vice versa there is no love lost between either group and the Christians. And the Christians show how Christianity should be by making sure that they hate all the Christian sects which do not comply with their viewpoint. The holiest place in the World also appears to be the unholiest.
The answer to your question as to why they do not get on comes down to one thing: Religion. All claim that God is on their side that only they will get salvation, but they cannot all be right. I tend to think that none of them are. I should not be surprised if God doesn't get fed up with the lot of them and send them all down stairs so they can murder each other for eternity - he can live in peace and Satan can deal with the chaos.

Not all Jews or all Muslims. Just PALESTINIANS and ISRAELIS. The muslims around the world are of course going to back their own people while the Jews all over the world will back their own. If the situation there did not exist, there would be no enmity between the two.

Isn't it just funny? So much land in this world and they're fighting over that teensie place. Of course it has economic gains like being in the center of the middle east but they're basing it on religious reasons.
Makes you wonder what flavor of religion they're using.

Muslims are fighting against unfair invaders of their territories and lands. You can not say they are ALWAYS fighting. Only in case somebody is coming to rape his wife or to kill his kids muslim person will fight.
Another questions why Jews are provoking them to fight??

people just need to realize there is and has been pain on both sides and until they can forgive and compromise they are only adding to the sad history and neither looks to be the most right...
