It is for sponsors, their muscles will stay warm on that short walk without the shirt. It is for the money.

Because they seem a lot cooler when they take it off right before entering the cage.
...and sometimes they might have some sponsor's logo on it.

Because they're standing around before coming on...they don't just pop out of nowhere. They're probably more comfortable in a shirt..just like we are....until they're in the cage. Or, they're after the 'rip it off' effects...the drama.

they spend time before the fight warming up. its usually a bit of a walk to the cage. so they put on a shirt or a robe to stay warm, loose, etc. they also usually out their sponsors logo on them. intimidaton , and looking cool has nothing to do with it,, i compete myself, and thats why i do it!
