Learn about the ingredients in different foods. Study the effects they have on the human body. I really like the book foods that harm and foods that heal. Did you know that certain vegetables contain nicotine?

The best would be a vegetarian diet...
But since most of us like more variation...
Try an 80% raw / 20% cooked diet
For raw you have salads, veggies and all types of fruit
For cooked everything else.
Avoid too many fattty foods...
and too much sugary food(carbohydrates)

try to stay away from fast food as much as you can. incorporate more veggies and fruits as light snacks to hold you over. fruits are very good for substitution of candy, they still have sugar but its a better version than what companies put into candy. always go for water instead of soft drinks. if your making something that would be primarily meat always try to add different veggies that would compliment it. Bell peppers are great for that along with red onions, yea it sounds like you making fajita's but it tastes good. processed food is definitely not good for you. try to cook most of the stuff yourself instead of heating up pre made food. there's usually a lot of sodium, preservatives and extra fat in that type of stuff that is not necessary. try to eat more fish instead of red meat, i heard it supposed to help peoples complexions also. plus it has alot of protein and omega acids which is referred to as brain food. it's usually leaner than red meat. also try to get the organic version, i know it sounds real hippy like and its more expensive but you will really notice a difference. amish chicken is really good. take vitamins just to make sure you cover your body needs. black beans and rice or red beans and rice are both good combinations if you are heading the vegetarian route. hell, even if you're not it's still good, i'm not a vegetarian but i love it. substitute mustard instead of mayonnaise if you can. hope this helps you
