No. If you have dark roots, and the ends are bleached blonde, you will end up with brownish red on top and a red/orange on the bottom. You need to color back to brown as close to your natural hair color as possible and then put in red highlights

the red will be very bright on the ends, anywhere from ronald mcdonald red to fushia pink depending on the color red you are using, if you can get a trim on your hair so that just the tips will be real bright, that would look really cool I think

i would recommend a pro - even though it cost more but to go from blonde to red everyone i know ended up with pink hair unless they go to a professional

have a pro do it I had a friend who was blonde and wanted red highlights they came out like a weird orange pink color.

ive done it. it works but u have to watch it when its on n not to take it out to early or it will be a pink colour.
