I know Josephes is the only one who wrote about the war, from a Roman point of view, but I find it hard to believe they all killed themselves. A mass sucide! Wow... I know it probably happened but its hard to take in.
Wasn't the law that if u kill urself, you'll go to Hell? All those ppl went to Hell if so (I know only a few select did the killings). To me, I'd rather be taken captured, humilated and killed and go to Heaven than to keep my pride, kill myself and go to Hell. Pride is very important but its a human function, I'd rather have entirnity (sp).
I heard some hid and survived. What happened to them?
What do u think?

Masada is worshiped as a Jewish holy site today, so even if it didn't happen as told, that does not stop Israelis from honoring those brave (Jewish) souls who slaughtered unarmed (Jewish) men, women & children and committed suicide rather than surrender to Romans.

That was one the earliest examples of "suicide (stabbers & hackers)" in Middle East history.

What I think is Masada is how Zionists justified supporting the "holocaust" to achieve their goal of gaining access to land they did not own in Palestine. Which is now known as "Israel."

Well the state of Israel as we comprehend it at present was once carved out of British Palestine after WW2. I think it was once 1948 that the Jewish state of Israel was once formally declared. Although Jews surely existed in what was once to turn out to be Israel for the duration of WW2, they had been regarded aspect of the British Empire and for probably the most aspect weren't instantly victimized via the holocaust being perpetrated in Europe via Nazi Germany. However, Refugees and survivors from in all places Europe (As good as the ones persecuted in Arab lands) poured into the brand new country of Israel upon its groundwork.

its truly difficult to put yourself in the position and mindset of the people at Masada.

Imagine the fact that you as a young woman would not be just humiliated and killed but that you would be raped, many times and then sold in to slavery and be degraded to the lowest common denominator never to have any hope of getting out of the suffering that your life would be.

the people knew that it was a lost cause and rather than to lose all their humanity and be degraded to the level of animals they chose to take their own lives with some sort of dignity.

I cannot judge what G-d will do to them or where they will end up and I suggest that you do the same.

do not judge lest ye be judged
