Drinking i understand, because it's bad for your health, and not really safe for kids to do, but why gambling? Kids don't have much money anyway, why not let them lose it? Seriously, why is gambling illegal for minors? Also, why can you vote before you can gamble/drink, i think people should have to be much more responsible to be deciding the fate of our nation then their own fate. WHY?

Apart from anything else I doubt patrons would be happy with dozens of little kids running around the casino.

However, I think the real question is why is the gambling age 21 in most of America. In almost any other country the age is 18. Are we trying to say that American 19 year olds are less mature than European 19 year olds?

In America a 20 year old a buy lottery tickets, get married, buy a house, have children, join the military and kill people, vote, buy a gun but we consider them too immature to gamble or drink. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

To prevent young kids from developing a gambling addiction early on, so they wont use their parent's money to gamble.

Just think what kind of world this would be if all of a sudden casinos were advertised during commercial breaks of "Sesame Street".

Also, it's because minors typically are not allowed in casinos, considering many of them serve alcoholic beverages to their patrons.

If you think about it, video arcades are basically a form of gambling for kids. They put quarters into the machines, in hopes of winning tickets that they can exchange for prizes. Of course it's all usually a ripoff anyways, but it's a similar concept.

First of all. People usally under 21 dont have a lot of money, and are usually concentrating on school.

Lets say if a 15 year old had $500,000 and lost all of it. That would pretty much suck. Not only that sucks, but the 15 year old is not mature enough.

21 is a fine age and its when you're really an adult and you have full freedom. By then you should know whats right whats wrong, whats too much.

Because you cannot be legally responsible for a debt if you are under 18. People don't want their kids going and losing their parent's houses and such.

The law says a minor does not have to pay off a debt. Meaning casinos, etc. can not make money off the kids. they lose money instead.
