I wouldn't follow the cat outside if it is late at night and you are only kids. I wouldn't worry about the phone, could've been a misdial. Cats always act weird, I have a cat so I know!

STAY INSIDE!! More than likely she has found something dead or she has killed something outside and wants to show it to you. Cats love to show off their victims, it's their nature. It will be there in the morning. Phone's occasionally will ring at night by mistake, I doubt that is making the cat act weird.

wake your gaurdian up the cat likely has seen kittens or a hurt cat out there that needs help.

Cats can see ghosts did you know that? You probably have a ghost and that's what the cat was trying to show you. And the ghost is the one who called you. He was probably just drunk-dialing though...he'll feel bad about it in the morning.

Sounds like she just wants to go outside. If your cat is allowed to go outside, let her out.

Wake your guardian and let them see what the cat is doing and let them figure out what to do

Humor your cat and play with it during the daytime... later at night it may be worn out to be bugging you.

She might hear or smell something that's interesting. Don't worry too much about it. It's good that you decided to not take her out.
