atleast 20 (lower just by 1 age) or 18, I'm 19 years old and i can fight/die for the country, i can get tattoos (1), i can drive, i can smoke/chew/dip tob. , but i cant have a drink. 18-20 with parent or guardian consent at any age people abuse alcohol at all ages so what about a raise to 25-30 there is no responsible age. Good question, but i think it either should be 18-20 (parent or guardian consent) or remain at 21. Alcoholism runs in my family so i actually choose not to drink im a desenated driver for my friends but im not perfect i do have a drink once an awhile but not a'lot.

The drinking age for beer and wine should be 17.
For liquor it should be 19.

For an unrestricted Driver's License it should be 21.
Under 21 should only be allowed to drive during daylight hours.

Think about this:
In most of Europe the drinking age is 14-15.
Yet, they have a much lower incidence of drinking and driving or alcohol related traffic fatalities.
Why is that?
Easy: You can get a license to drive until you have had time to learn how to handle alcohol.
Not the bass ackwards way we do it in the US.

Let folks mature before you give them a deadly weapon.

This may sound horrible but sometimes I want a shot of something because I have a nervous problem and it settles you down I guess. But other then me being a total weirdo, I think the drinking age should stay around the same legal age it is now. Or a few years higher like-25. Yeah, but that won't help much. =P lol

It should be the same age as you can be considered a legal adult, vote, enlist in / be drafted by the military, obtain a driver's license, etc.

Now if people are stupid at 18, perhaps you want to raise some of those other ages so they all match. If you aren't mature enough to drink responsibly, you have no business voting or driving either.

The drinking age should remain at twenty-one. Even at this age, teens are getting behind the wheel drunk, which proves they aren't mature and responsible enough to drink.

And regarding the mantra of the underage drinker, "if you're old enough to go to war, you're old enough to drink," when you get drafted, I'll buy you a beer. There hasn't been a draft in over thirty years (before you were born) Until there is one, shut up!

I work at a detox center. I see many young and old that have ruined their life with the bottle. I propose a license. One you can apply for at 15 or 16. If you have the maturity level and have gone through enough life to know what the trouble signs are then fine. Otherwise... well. It's a spur of the moment idea. Need to think on it more. Good question.

Wow that's a hard question. But I do believe if you are old enough to fight in a war you should be old enough to drink.

I've learned some teenagers grow up faster then others and takes on more responsibility a lot better then others. But I also know a few older adults that shouldn't be allowed to drink.
