When I asked for his real name, I was thinking of something other than Lucifer.
I heard somewhere that his angel name began with a 'B', like Betsaba, or 'Be' something. Know anything about this?

You are asking a hard one, but here goes:

The Devil is Lucifer, the Angel of Light. Like Adam, the Devil's sin was disobedience.

God created the Angels before He created Man. He explained to the Angels that He was God and that they were to serve Him.

The way Man understands things, time passed and God revealed to the Angels that He existed in Three Divine Persons and that all Three were God and the Angels would have to serve all Three. So far none of the Angels had any problem with this concept, One God in Three Persons.

Time passed and God revealed to the Angels that in the fullness of time the Second Person of the Holy Trinity would take on flesh and 'be less than an Angel.' None-the-less, Angels would still acknowledge Him and serve Him as God. No problem, as 'the Word made Flesh' was still God.

Then God revealed to the Angels that the Second Person of the Holy Trinity would become Man by being birthed by a woman, a creature not Divine, nor greater than the Angels. The Angels too would have to honor the woman, obey and serve her.

Lucifer said that he would never bow down to the woman... (Is this beginning to sound familiar?) And so the war in Heaven erupted with the result that Lucifer and his followers became 'fallen angels,' as they were exiled from Heaven for disobedience. Now these fallen angels are known as 'demons,' and they roam the earth seeking the ruination of Man.

Read your added details; were you thinking of 'Beelzebub,' or perhaps 'Ba'al?' Those were names for pagan gods of the Philistines.

The devil of Christian belief has come to be known either as Lucifer or Satan, which means 'enemy.'

Take your pick, the devil goes by many names.

don't believe the other two answers.
Look for the precreation stories (Old thestament) may have to get a copy of the Torah for it or a copy of The Other Bible(willis barnstone) or the New Jerusalem Bible they have theprecreation stories in them.
The Devil is a made up charter put togeher by the Cathoilic church form different sources Chaldien, Paganism, witchcraft they put all of them in a pot and stired them all into one being which fit their idea of what the ruler of Hell should look like. a bunch of bs if you ask me.
Yes it is a fallen Angel that was supposed to be the Guardian Angel of this Planet. But got a swelled head and thought he could run creation better that the Creator could and turned a bunch of other Angels to his way of thinking And started the War in Heaven .Which he lost. And now he and the other angels that were on his side are siting on an Island surrouned by a sea of glass awaiting the day of the Final Judgement.
Before Christ was need and the cause of God needing to create the Christ to try and save us.
His name is ST. Lucifer

In a nutshell, the most accepted version is: before the creation of earth, Satan was a cherub (yes, all cute and baby-faced) who was the lightbearer. (Nobody can agree on what that means, but apparently it was an important job.) Anyway, he got to thinking that he was more important than anyone else, and that he could do a better job than anyone else, including God. He presented this thought to God, which didn't impress God. Lucifer committed the sin of pride and was cast out from heaven with about a third of the angels, who had decided to vote for him if there was an election. God allowed him to dwell on the earth for a time (until Armageddon or so). There's no simple passage which explains any of this, just references here and there, which is why there are different interpretations.

Come on thats such an easy question, the devil had a choice and decided to be full of himself and chose the opposite side of god. Anyhow thats what i was taught, but i think theres more to the story, angels are simply intelligent beings either for or against us. Thats all, nothing more nothing less. Lucifer was his real name. And christ was before him. Also did Lucifer really betray god? Or was that all part of the plan? U decide

The devil let his desire to be worshipped lead him into opposing God. He was created as an angel after the being we know as Jesus. We know this because the Bible calls Jesus the firstborn of all creation and it says that all other things in heaven and on earth were created through him and for him. The Bible does not give the Devils real name. I am very happy that you are asking and would love to have you e-mail me and ask anything else you want to know.

His name is Lucifer, the angel of light. He is the angel who knows all the instruments and even sings. God gave him powers and talents. Yes, he betrayed God. He revolt against God because, he wants to be a god too because of jealousy. He convinced some of the angels which are with him to deceive people here on earth. Then God decided to have an election and of course God won. So, he was sentenced out of heaven and to hell .And he is jealous of us people, because angels have no freedom. And he knows that God loves people so much and that's why he like to destroy people. That's his business here, this is not a battlefield. Satan wants to take all the people to hell with him!!! It was even before creation, Jesus was there from the beginning, that's why He decided to come here and sacrifice Himself for us all. Because He loves us so much. This part is not in the bible that's why you will really be confuse. Know you know this I hope you will be a good christian who loves God. God bless

Apparently, the angel Lucifer (soon to be the Devil) and a few other angels were jealous of God and wanted to be in charge. To punish them God banished them from Heaven. Notice that God has created all these imperfect angels that feel jealous of what they don't have. And then He just kicks them out of Heaven. If God's omnipotent, why didn't He just cease their existence?

Another Question:
The Book of Genesis states that the Devil in the form of a serpant convinced Adam and Eve to eat fruit from the Tree of Knowledge after God told them that if they ate that fruit, they would die. As it turns out, they didn't die. But God still banished them from the Garden of Eden forcing them to find their own food, shelter, and clothing.

But think about this. Adam and Eve couldn't have been more tham a few days, weeks, or months old. Hence, they had the experience and wisdom of children. They made a mistake. We learn from our mistakes. God could have said to them, "Hey you two, don't eat from this tree again. You've been warned."

If you ask me, God was pretty critical of them. They were young and dumb, the Devil (in the form of a cute little reptile) talked them in to doing it, and now they and all their descendants are sinners all because of a single piece of fruit. Do you think God expected Adam and Eve to be perfect? How are they going to learn if they don't make mistakes?

Personally, I don't think the Devil really exists. He's just something that was made up to scare people in to thinking a certain way. Hence, if you don't believe in God, you're going to spend an eternity in pain and misery. That sounds like something a person would say - not God.

According to myth/the bible he was Lucifer...the most beautiful angel of all the angels...Gods first creations. Lucifer was so popular with the angels, he built an army composed of half the angels, and idolized by God that he got a big head and decided to lead a revolt against God...a power struggle. He was defeated by God and cast to Hell with his angel followers...his name was banned from heaven and he was given the new name Satan. He was given dominion over Earth...which God created as a battlefield with Satan and home for his creation of Man through which he would win final victory over Satan and eliminate evil. The old testament is the story of Gods battle with Satan through man. The new testament is the story of how God plans to win the final victory over Satan and evil.

The whole story is really a ridiculous farce and is not really the basis of anything useful in modern culture. Religion in general is based on just these sort of myths all of which are hold overs from cultures and beliefs which have no bearing on our current reality.

This isn't the answer that you are looking for I'm sure, but this is the truth behind the fiction. The devil, his demons, and the forces of Hell are all based on old pre-Christian Pagan myths. Modern religion needed to creat a scapegoat for people to follow them and they found it convenient to turn the old Pagan deities into monsters. Lucifer (which meens light-bringer) was the name of a Roman deity. The new religion demoted him to merely being and angel in the service of "the one true God". Then he supposedly rebelled and was cast out of Heaven. The place he was cast to was based on a place in Norse mythology which was ruled by a goddess named Hel. See the connection? Anyway, the form he took when he became the devil was based on the Greek God Pan. Both Pan and Satan are often portrayed as having cloven hooves, goat legs, and horns. That is no coincidence. The literal name of Satan means adversary or accuser. He was an angel assigned by god to test Job to see if he would abandon faith in God. Satan and Lucifer were originally two different beings. But as Lucifer became the "opponent" of God, it became only natural to give that name to Lucifer as he was the angel who originally defied God. But actually, it wasn't really that some angel defied God so much as all the old Gods became demons in the eyes of the new religion and the scapegoat for every bad thing in the history of the human race. It is time for people to stop hiding behind their religions and take responsibility for their own fates. I hope that some of you found this enlightening at the very least.

Lucifer is a fallen angel commonly associated with Satan, the embodiment of evil and enemy of God. Lucifer (who was supposed to be very beautiful) is generally considered, based on the influence of Christian literature and legend, to have been a prominent archangel in heaven (although some contexts say he was a cherub or a seraph), prior to having been motivated by pride to rebel against God. When the rebellion failed, Lucifer was cast out of heaven, along with a third of the heavenly host, and came to reside in the Hell.
