have been dealing with what I think may be low blood sugar. I will feel faint and dizzy, hot and shaky. My mother in-law said this is common, and that I should try to drink orange juice, or eat penut butter when this happens, and it takes a minuite for this to go away, but it does. Is this common? Or is this still Hormones? I asked the Doctor and she said that every womans body is different, and that there are no test they can take, unless I am diabetic. Are theese symptoms of diabeetes?

Are you breast feeding? You ight not getting enough nutrients for you and the baby! Even if you aren't breast feeding, the baby requires more from you than you were used to before so you are more active, you still need nutrients. This happened to me, it is OK to still take your prenatal vitamins, your doc will tell you that too!

If you have low blood sugar the last thing you want to do is drink orange juice, or take in anything sweet for that matter. I am hypoglycemic, and the best thing you can do is eat small amounts of protein throughout the day (almonds, cheese, etc.) and avoid all sugars (juices, honey, fruit, etc.). I did not notice a significant change in my blood sugar after having my daughter, but it might be possible because of all the changes your body and hormones are going through. I would suggest seeing a holistic doctor, since traditional western doctors aren't very knowledgeable about blood sugar and diet in my opinion (as it seems was the case with your doctor's comments). Also, read some info about "hypoglycemia", specifically "reactive hypoglycemia" (not hyperglycemia, which is often associated with diabetes and is the opposite) on the internet or in books. Good luck.

The symptoms of diabetes are feeling thirsty all of the time and urinating a lot. You didn't mention how long its been since your baby was born but if it was within the last month, your body's hormones very well could be fluctuating. Make sure you are getting plenty of rest and fluids! New babies are hard work!

Almost sounds like anemia as well. Kind of depends on how long it has been since you had your baby. A week, month, a few.... Those are really common symptoms for a LOT of different problems.

extreme thirst usually comes with diabetes. With my first pregnancy I had what your describing but I had a very long (33hrs) labor and it continued for almost 4 weeks after the delivery. How long ago did you have your baby? And I would just like to say congratulations on your little bundle of joy. ~Dana

It might be, but it could also be your iron level. I had that problem after I had my son, and my doc had to prescribe iron pills. But you can get them over the counter. See if your doctor will test your hemoglobin. That might be what it is. I hope it is that and not diabetes.

those symptoms are never "common", you should see a doctor....those docs could have left part of the placenta or a sponge or something inside you, thats causing you to feel bad..

This is very normal to feel like this because your body has gone through a rapid change. Don't worry - what you are experiencing is very normal.
