Hey guys,
I received this scholarship like in May or something like that. I am in college... however, then document says that I need to submit a thanking letter to scholarship donors by the first week of fall 2006.... The fall semester starts on august 22nd.... but, however I haven't sent the letter yet. I feel like since I haven't sent it early could that be bad?

But, I have an excuse, I am taking 4 summer courses, 2 a and 2 b, which means that I have really been busy this summer....

Now, if I send this letter about 3 months after I have received the information that I have earned the scholarship, although meeting the deadline... is that OK?.... thanks...

don't make excuses. Someone somewhere decided to give you some money so you can be a student. Sending a thank you note isn't that much to ask. You could do it in a half an hour so go get crackin'!

Better late than never. You should send a note whether or not it was required. It doesn't have to be long. I would try to send it at least a week before the deadline. Just tell the donor(s) that you sincerely appreciate the donation and the faith they put in you. Also say that you will work hard in order to make their donation worthwhile. You might mention that you've already gotten a head start on your education this summer, and give a brief statment about your educational goals, plans and career plans.

How long ought to thank you letter to scholarship donor be? If i'm provided a scholarship I would desire to deliver a thank you letter "directed with the aid of the college's scholarship workplace". How long ought to this letter be? Are there particular formalities or is there a definite format I would desire to place in writing it in? Any data would be great. thank you!

Welcome to college...There are no such things as excuses.

The least you could do is send a thank you letter (good rule for life - whether it is mandatory or not).

Write the letter now, it does not have to be lengthy.
You could write "I am currently preparing to head off to college next week and I would like to express my appreciation to the ???Foundation for giving me the ??? Scholarship. Your interest in my endeavors will be a great help to me, and I will do my best to put your contributions to good work"...
