Hi!
Oh how much fun! I wish I could help you!

Bright pink and black are in.
so are sparkly things.

Find one thing you really like that would work in a bedroom or whatever and then decorate around it. Pull colors from it to use in furniture, fabric, wall color, etc, and designs from it too.

It's also a big thing now to mix up several different styles. Have a variety of things and styles and textures.

Read up a little bit about all the styles. I recommend you go to the Better Homes and Gardens website and see some stuff they have there.
You could also do their "color-a-room" thing (super fun) to see what your bedrooms colors and such would look like together.

Good luck and have fun!!

They recently helped me pick out pink with silver accessories and rich chocolate brown furniture. Pier 1 Imports staff was so helpful and knowledgeable -they made it easy to find pieces that worked. And look AMAZING!
They told me to start with a base color like the chocolate brown or beige- and buy accessories that fit your style. Small things like lamps, pillows and vases that give a POP a color but are easy to change as your style changes.

I was in a Chicago Pier 1store- but I'm sure all of them are the same!

Ok what are you into????? what do you like..... Find a focal point in your room and accent around it to make it yours... Example. I Love Butterflies, and I love pink So above my bed, I have a crown and it has light pink lace swags hanging from it and on either side I have butterflies hanging on the lace.... then i did my bed in pale pink with hot pink bedskitrs. I have butterfly figurines from lenox on my dresser and i painted my jewelry boc black and accented it black and found beautiful butterfly pic and cut them out and daycoupaged the jewelry box...... My furniture is dark oak color and it all blends in well together. I used wooden blinds for my windows and pinl scarfs and a decorative rod at the end of the rods i have buterflies attached...... and a flower center piece for my chest of drawers with two small butterflies sitting on the flowers..... Just accent. do not overwhelm the room Work with the space you have... make it work for you... Best Of luck

Fushia, Lavender, Pink, Light blue, Red are all great colors. Also east indian style is pretty hot. Delias.com has great bedding. I would say first choose the bedding that you love and decorate accordingly around it. Afterall the bed is the biggest thing in a persons room.

I'm 16 to and one of my favorite sites is www.pbteen.com - they hane tons of cute stuff, but its also expensive. They also have quizzes to help you find the stuff that matches your personality most and the have contests where you can win things from them. I don't know what you like, but light blue for walls is a good choice because it's easy to match - it's in a lot of comforters, and its also supposed to be a relaxing color.

Hi Honey! Paint is the easiest and more inexpenisve way to change the look of a room. Pick a color you love and go for it, if parents are skeptical see if they will agree to one wall (accent wall) being that color.
Check out http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/designers_portfolio_main/ for ideas.
