Probably some people just couldn't be bothered or are so self absorbed with thier own lives that they don't notice the squeak.
Go over with some wd 40 and offer to oil it for them.
Either that or add a few pairs of thong underwear to the line and let the neighbours wake you up with the domestic dispute! ;) j/k

Haha...sneak out early in the morning or late at night and oil it for them. If you get caught, tell them why you did it.
