the question is who makes time for their for friends . all of us have busy lives .sometimes people just can't fit the time in that a freind might need. I have found that through out my life as freinds have come and gone that it is essential that I be my own best freind.

Like everything in life, you must make time for it. Make it a routine so it doesn't fall through the cracks.

For example, since leaving my last job (it was five years ago and I was there for 10 years), I still see my friends there regularly. We have lunch every other Wednesday and get together to play poker once a month.

I'm with you on this. Seems like I always end up with friends who want to "hang" all the time and want to do it at my pad. I cant help it that I clean my place, and they dont. But when they're hanging, I cant get a thing done. They just dont have a life. I tell them I have to go on errands, and do they get the hint and go home? No, then they want to go on the errands with me!!! So my plan is to tell them I have given up drinking and cant have any drinking around me, that should eliminate them hanging in front of my TV watching sports. My gf is tired of our place always smelling like spilled beer. They cant stand her, so I am going to make her the main attraction, she will be at everything, every event. I hope that gets rid of most of my loser friends...

I think people will not have time for their friends once they are married with kids. Their weekends and free time will be spent on bringing children to ballet and music lessons, tuition, visiting parents in- laws, shopping in NTUC, etc. So, cherish your friends now while they are still around and not married. :-)

~~i make time for friends because my friends are important to me.... you grow up with one family and as you grow you develop another family... a family of friends... and they are just as important to me as my family.~~
