I wanted to take a girl out on a date, however, I cant think of anything that great to do, im not doing dinner, im not doing a movie, none of that typical stuff. I wanna be creative and well to be honest Im not giving up a day of metal detecting for some date with a random girl! is it ok to take her metal detecting or is that just weird? is there any chance she would like it? wouldnt that be something!!!!

I'm into computers , video games , movies , sex so you would think that metal detecting would be OK but it even makes me bored. Perhaps if you tell her how you found a few hundred dollar jewelery a few times or stories like that maybe? I guess I would give it a try because you can away talk as you do it.

Why don't you ask a prospective female if she would like to go metal detecting??? You sound a little self centered though. You don't want to give up a day of metal detecting to take a special someone to a movie or dinner, but you wouldn't mind it if they spent the time metal detecting???? You have to give a little here!!! Think about it!!!

Metal Detecting, that's weird...
However, on another note, a good way to propose would to take a girl metal detecting on the beach... burry the ring in the sand, and then go walking along looking for some stuff.. then you find the ring and then dig it up and then you're like oooh look at this blah blah...
And then all of a sudden you get down on one knee - and say
"WILL YOU MARRY ME?!"

she will think you are cheap and trying to avoid the cost of a meal or a drink.
You have to accept that first daters expect mainstream stuff like dinner / movies.
Try joining a club, you might find some dorky girl whos a nerd like you.

If she likes you for you,then I would think she might like doing what interests you.I would give it a try and if she doesn't like it,then you havent lost much because you want someone who has similiar interests as you do.
