I have been looking over some question and answers and have noticed that a lot of parents on here let their children sleep with them... i'm from australia and have a 16 month old... he has never slept with me and as far as i know none of my friends let their kids sleep with them either.. i was just curious about what other people do... please tell me ur childs age and whether or not they sleep with you and why?? not here to judge just trying to find out about other cultures

my son slept in my room until he was about 2 or 3 months old but it was always in a cot at the end of the bed... never in our bed... i was always too scared i would roll on him.. good luck to all those parents trying to get their kids out of their beds...

BTW i am also a single mum and have never had the urge to sleep with my son in my bed for comfort.. its easier having him in his bed... no chance of me waking him...

Okay, I am a single mom and I have a four year old son who sleeps with me and has done so since birth. I have tried putting him into his own bed which is right across the hall from my bedroom, but he gets up in the night and comes back to my bed. I don't think it is a problem for him to sleep with me except that he ends up sideways with his feet in my face. I would prefer to have him in his own bed, but haven't made a really concerted effort to make it happen. By the way, my culture in middle-class American.

Its not safe to sleep with ur baby many do because it bonds them or the mother cant let the baby sleep by him self or the child cant sleep by himself....my moms friend with her first child she let him sleep in her bed while he was really young i cant member how old but he ended up dieing being rolled on in the middle of the night so its not a good idea when ur in a deep sleep u have no idea if ur floping all over the bed or not

I have a 10 1/2 month old baby boy and Iam from the U.S. in Louisiana.
My son sleeps with me. Iam trying to break him of the habit because he started falling asleep with me whe n he was very colicy and he would fall asleep on my chest. Now its just for comfort nd feels safe with me. Its a very hard habit to break and I dont recomend this for anyone. I know when I have another baby he/she will not sleep with me.

my son slept with me from birth till he was six before i finally got him out of my room he had sleep apnea at birth so i was more comfortable having him near me my daughter is 2 and is still sneaking into my bed she just likes being with mom. I slept better knowing my kids were near me not everyone is that way i say whatever works for you.

There is no excuse for letting babies sleep in your bed... you could suffocate them. This is not an acceptable practice in the US, although many parents do it.

I did it because my husband was in school and my little girl wouldn't sleep, which kept me from sleeping and I was super stressed so we started letting her sleep with us, which I now regret because she will not get out of my bed now. :(
BTW, my little girl is 22 months.
