My kitten had little itty worms. THey would dry up in a matter of minutes but it was nasty. Anyway, I took my kitten to the vet today and I forgot to ask. How soon after getting the deworming injection will the worms disappear? Will the come out dead, will they stop coming out. How does it work?

They die pretty quickly, and when my cats got dewormed I never saw any worms in their poop or anything. I think they probably get a bit digested after they die. The need to die quickly or they will try laying eggs, or breaking apart to reproduce.

If kitty had medication from a vet you should see something in the stool in a 1/2 day or so. Might want to just call your vet and ask. Some may be alive, some dead. When you don't see anymore, they should all be gone, but if you can afford it run another test and hope it comes up negative. Your vet may do this without charging you for an office call. Once that is all cleared up, I'd throw away the litter pan and replace everything with new.

Oh no, not another worm question....that's the third one tonight. What's with all the worm questions. Are there that many wormy people on tonight?? Enough already---stop the worm questions.

Gross me out, it makes them let go of your cat's intestines, but it may take a couple of poops to evacuate them out of kitties intestines.
