I won't blame all, some people are just fine, but is it mostly some (I repeat, SOME) Christians we have problems with? Because I don't see the Jewish, Wiccans, the non-religious, people of Islam, Buddhists, and all others going back and forth with each other here, and just wondered why this is. (Not that I want anything started mind you, the peace is nice! lol)

Okay...I will rephrase an end of a sentence... "...WHY is that?" Better? ; ) Picky, picky...

Yes, there are some Christians that I would say are problematic, that stir up trouble, that are just rude and disrespectful (and then get confused when the same is done back to them by others). There are SOME Christians that tell you what you believe (as a Hindu this happens to me a lot and is usually full of all kinds of misinformation and lies about what it is I truly believe...I think I'd know so probably the tactic of "telling me" what it is that I believe is probably not a good one).

As for the going back and forth with each other, why some Christians will even argue with other Christians. I think (and this is just my humble opinion so please feel free to disagree) it is because those Christians that we often have a problem with have a simple problem themselves: they aren't looking at deeping their own spiritual understanding or perspectives, they aren't striving to dive deeper and deeper into the presence and spirit of God (the Divine). They seek just to be right. Dogma and Theology are the surface of religion, spirituality is it's heart. There are just some people (not just Christians I've come contact with) who live just on the surface and never go into the heart of their beliefs. Why? Well from what I can tell from my encounters it is because they are just seeking to be right. And they start talking to you (whose wrong and they've already made up their mind about it so you aren't going to change it) and it really the entire thing is all about ego. "I'm right and you're wrong". They just feed their ego over and over and over again. The ego just wants to be right, it doesn't care about going deeper and deeper into God (because to do that you have to get rid of the ego and the ego is going to put up a fight and try to survive for as long as it can).

So then you have these ego-centric people who practice the religion's surface and not it's heart and have no interest in going deeper into the heart level of spirituality. They believe they are right and they engage in conversations/debates/arguments/discussions that are all aimed at boosting their egos by being able to declare they are right and everyone else is wrong (and nothing you say will change that). They get so caught up in it that even people who practice the very same religion as them but who are touching the heart of the religion, who are practicing spirituality and experiencing spirituality, that to the ego-centric person this person is wrong and not a "true" member of the religion (they are not practicing the "true" religion). Thus unless an ego-centric person only believes that other people who believe exactly as they believe, etc...that only these people are right. If it is not exact, then they are wrong. The ego-centric person can still grow, eventually, and slowly shed their ego (God has a way of opening hearts up and up and up and up and having you go deeper and deeper and deeper into the heart of religion, spirituality). It does happen, I've seen it happen....I myself have experienced first hand (yes I'll admit I used to be an ego-centric person).

So that's my own humble opinion about it.

Peace be with you.

I don't see where Christians are going back and forth with each other. There are people here who have asked spiritual questions here and they are getting answered. There have been stupid questions asked I feel to make a mockery of what is trying to be accomplished here. The athiest comments have put some Christians on defense. And some of the non-religious have put some Christians on defense with their questions. I didn't want to point out one particular group. I don't want anyone to be offended. But other than that I don't see where Christians are attacking each other in here. I'm truely sorry if you got that impression.

Because atheists on this site tend to target Christians lots, lots, lots more than other religions. This comes to be because a lot of atheists say Christians keep trying to shove their religion in their face. Some Christians get angry, and they and atheists fight back and forth. repeat cycle.

If either side wants to be the better man or woman, stop bickering and play nice.

of course there are the individuals who always choose to take the high road.

i became into raised Christian. whilst my father died, I had a no longer situation-free time awareness how a "loving, benevolent" God ought to do this. "as a results of fact he's God and He has a reason" did no longer help, neither did "What He does is right, as a results of fact the Bible says so." Then i became into instructed that my dad would desire to have completed some thing terrible to have been taken so youthful, and that he became into burning in Hell now. This from a Born back Christian. That ended any choose I had to comprehend or worship the Christian thought of God. in view that then, i've got chanced on a relationship with the Divine that doesn't contain a jealous and vengeful God, does not remember on the terror of punishment or the possibility of eternal damnation, advocates own accountability and being accountable on your strikes in this life, and encourages me to stroll in team spirit with the international around me. and that i could no longer be happier! sure, human beings nonetheless die - it fairly is an element of the cycle. this isn't any longer as a results of fact they do something "incorrect", this is as a results of fact this is the way it is going, now and back - each living element dies finally. It does not make it harm any much less whilst they do, yet a minimum of i do no longer would desire to objective and soothe the wear and tear with the thought "they're in a extra effective place" or project that "they're burning in Hell as a results of fact they did some thing incorrect."

Yup. The Bible thumpers and the ones who feel that Jesus is the only way to some imaginary heaven. Many of them quote the Bible without even an iota of understanding and some haven't even read the Bible. They are angry, ignorant, intolerant, afraid, hateful and everything. They spout what others preach.

Many of my Christian friends are cool people. They don't see the need to go about condemning everyone to hell or spouting the Bible

Do you realize that you didn't ask a question on this question/answer board?

You did mention some religions, but didn't ASK anything.

Placing question marks at the end of a sentence, does not a question make.

I think that Christianity being a text based religion with so many interpretations gets skewered by people who believe in different interpretations of their scripture.
