From the time I was born till I was around 18 I was raised in a Christian family and went to church every Sunday and most Wednesday's. I was a devout Christian and understood what it meant to be saved and that once you are saved then you are always saved. So I became born again in that time. Around the time I was 20 I found other religions and converted to Wicca. I feel that I don't believe in Jesus as a part of God anymore, but when I was born again I sure did. So when I got saved as a devout Christian am I still saved even though I don't believe it anymore?

Ok 53 answers so far and just about every one of them different. Some yesses some nos. They are also laced with many different biblical verses, most of which have nothing to do with the question. Many of you missed the point entirely. I forgot that some people think Wicca worships the devil. God (the Father, in the Christian sense) is basically the same throughout almost every religion.
I got many responses in which people said that I was never saved to begin with, which, in the protestant (Baptist) teachings, I WAS saved, 100%. I asked Jesus to come into my heart and I did believe in him, at the time, as my Savior.
I'm not questioning my faith to come back to Christianity. This question cannot be answered in the same way as 1 + 1 = 2, so where does "fact" in the bible start, and where does "fiction" begin.

Do you think you need to be Saved? I'm Wiccan and I don't need to be Saved.

From what you've said, I'd say NO, you are not saved.
If you're interested, you could read Matthew Chapter 13. It may have some relevance here. I'm sure there are other passages that may be better, but I'm no preacher or expert.
You may have left God, but God has never left you. And He will never give up on you.
I've been reading other's responses. Don't be discouraged. I think you're just confused. I think you may be going through a trial. You're being tested, and this is your time to figure it out. I was born and raised a Christian too, but that doesn't make you a Christian. It can't be chosen for you, YOU must choose it. Obviously, God is still with you. And there is hope for you.
Do a search on yahoo for "A Call to Backsliders". It's a sermon by John Wesley. Yes it's long, but it's worth it. The first half might be scary, but keep reading. If you want to know the Lord, the best way, in my opinion, is through the Bible. Ultimately it's up to you. God will give you chances in this life, but it's up to YOU to accept them.
Also, research Arminianism. Try wikipedia. Good luck my friend.

Hello friend,
You ask a fair question, and I'll try to give a fair answer.
I am Christian and I know it as sure as I am breathing. You see I've given control of my heart to Jesus. That's me.
Now you. From the wording of your question, it sounds like you may have been Baptist or Pentecostal or some similar religion who teach "once saved, always saved".
I also grew up with the same beliefs. In fact, I'm glad God can save Baptists, that's what I was when He saved me!
But as I've stated elsewhere, I've since repented and been forgiven of being Baptist.
Now hold on friend, "I've got nothing against Baptists, but I don't brag on them, too many in jail, some out that ought to be in Amen? I brag on Jesus!" (O.B.Greene)
Now you're probably wondering what any of that has to do with your question. A lot.
You've described a "Christian" upbringing, and "decision for Christ", and then at a more enlightened age (20) you must have found the real truth.
So did I. At 13 when I was Born Again, I bet I followed Christ for about a minute. And then proceeded to live a life that would make the devil blush. Was I saved? Are you?
I have the answer to one for sure, maybe both.
For me, God let me run, and I ran hard and fast. But you know what friend, I never ran beyond His sight or grasp. And all along the way He kindly provided roadblocks and detours intended to direct me back to His path.
I ignored the small ones. And a few big ones. But you see, I was His, and He wasn't about to let me go. And I admit it took a severe event in my life to get my attention, but thank God He never gave up on me!
"You never know Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have".(S.Brown) That's true. And thank God He brought me back
home again to His arms!!
So, go ahead and run friend. Run to Wicca, run to drugs, alcohol,
and even Satan himself if you want. If you are God's child, (and only He knows), He will bring you back to Himself. But it won't be easy and it will come at a price to you. Maybe even your life.
But ... if you weren't Born Again back like you thought you were,
you'll run right into the hateful arms of Satan who, if possible, hates your soul possibly more than God loves you. And that's beyond measure.
Finally friend, I'll leave you with 1st John 5:11-13 which is the Bible answer to your question.
Could have said that at the top and saved all this verbage.
Blessings,
2 Tim.2:7

I'm sure you already know this but do you believe what you know saves you?
I know many wiccans believe in Christ too. I personally know one who is ornery enough to post a question like this on yahoo answers but the point is what I'm wondering.
God is a little more encompassing then the believe that we are all 35 year old children or older or younger and as far as Wicca goes in its 55 or so year history it has a vary important principle to it that is vary much Jesus. Who was the ultimate light worker who never said you could not do the same.
Its just as I see when people convert or change to make other people family and friends or even a spouse happy it ends up making you sick thinking you had forced yourself to be contrary to what you know to be truth. And you had a problem with Christianity. and maybe a little pissed but you need to know it was your choice to accept it.. that's how free will works your choose the offense or non offense to bend to others or stay firm in your self.
So again As long as what you know now to be who you are your more then saved.... If you feel with ever fiber of your being your on track in this department.. Then your beyond saved.
And that would be the point of any spirituality wouldn't it?

every journey starts with the first step and this means that you have taken a different path (you are probably the best person to compare and contrast what you once believe and what you do now) for there are many paths that seem right to men but at the end they are paths that lead only to death. So that first step that led you to this present belief is the same step you need to take to find Jesus once more---remember the prodigal son and how the father loved so much that when the son asked for forgiveness he was dressed and given a ring which denoted his welcome back home.
I can only imagine what experiences and testimonies you would present when you go into the world and take the message that you once believed---that Jesus is Lord and Savior to all that repent of their sins---pass and current. So the answer to your question is in the story of the prodigal son---you decide. Come back home.

well, you know im baptist so i see where you are coming from. "once saved, always saved" is what a lot of baptists say. BUT if you dont believe anymore...i dont think you are. i know that you dont want to hear this but there are two options: either 1) you were never TRULY saved because you were too young(this happens frequently in baptist churches) and you didnt really have a CHANGE in your lifestyle (like reading your Bible, praying, tithing, etc) or 2) you are just in a lifestyle of sin right now(which i mean everyone sins, but you are so far from God that you arent even acknowledging Him and asking for forgiveness) I will pray for you and Im sure that your family already is. please look into this more...... its not all about going to heaven..... its what He's done for us...... i recommend reading a book by Lee Strobel called "The Case For Christ." the guy went in as a nonbeliever trying to prove Christianity wrong..... just look at his results.........just try it with an open mind........ good luck

That is a tought one....I don't feel comfortable telling you you are or you're not. God is the only one who can make that judgement...it is not for me to say.... but I would just point you to the bible.....God says that the only way to Him is through his son Jesus! Honestly your question is a little contridicting. If you don't believe in Jesus any more then you don't believe in being "saved" because the only way you can be saved is through him. If you don't believe in Jesus then why are you worried about being saved or not? It sounds to me as if you are struggling with what to believe. To some extent every Christian struggles with different issues. Some times the exact answer you are looking for isn't there. At those times you just have to trust God and what he has to say. What he has to say is in the bible...it is not at our discrsion to take away or add to it. It is what it is and how God wanted it to be. Just because we change or our society changes doens't mean that he does....he is the same yesterday, today and forever. Some times we just have to take him at his word....God has NEVER broken a promise or lied. Take the Isrialites for example....God promised Abraham that his decendants woud inherit the land....it took many many years and generations for God to fulfill his promise, but he did. My heart goes out to you as I have had my own time of questioning. My suggestion is to just read the bible and pray and ask God to show you his truth and what he would have you believe. Another great book that may help you out is the Holy Spirit by Billy Graham. the first couple of chapters are a little "heavey' but if you keep reading I think you would find the answer you are looking for. Hope that I helped a little....I will be praying for you!

No, you are not saved because your meritous works don't save you. You have to be born in spirit. Unless and until a person confesses his sin and asks Jesus Christ to wash away his inherited Adamic sin by His sacrificial blood ( 1 Peter 2: 18,19), and accepts Him as his personal Saviour and Lord,( John 1:12; Romans 10: 9, 10), he cannot have forgiveness of his sin from God and have his spirit born again.
Regarding Once Saved Always Saved conception, the Bible doesn't say so. You should be obidient to God and follow his instruction, which you find in Bible to maintain your salvation. You cannot be a careless christian, ( Hebrews 2:3). I know man is liable to sin but every time you fall in sin, Jesus is ready to hold you in his arms and carry you. ( Romans 8: 38, 39)

I don't think that you are. I'm not saying that you were saved and lost it, I'm saying that you probably never were saved if you were drawn into another religion knowing what the Bible says about such things. You probably were just doing the things you thought you were supposed to do and going through the "religious" motions that you've seen all of your life. You can be saved still though but you must foresake wicca and all other sin and truly surrender to Jesus as your Lord. I will pray for you that you will make the right decision.

Obviously you never really "understood what it meant to be saved" because you are still confused about it.
Because there was no change in your life consistent with the fruit of the Spirit, that indicates that no, you were not nor are you now saved. Remember the parable of the seed that sprung up quickly but soon died away? While you heard the truth, it never sunk in enough for the changes to happen.
Wicca is contradictory to what the Bible teaches so you cannot be a true believer of both. It's impossible.

The Wiccan beliefs clearly defy the ones of Christianity. But once you are saved, Jesus won't leave you. I think that he's trying to call to you through your asking of this question. If you choose not to believe it anymore, that's your choice. God won't stop fighting in winning you back over to Christianity. The persistence is there; it's up to you to take that leap of faith and decide. What I am wondering is what exactly lead you to Wicca.
I myself have though of myself as an open-minded person, trying to decide which religion is correct. The sad thing is that we all can't be right. I hope you find what you are looking for, though.
