Time has changed since Dayananda. It is not the time to think that Veda has all the knowledge of the world, and indians have the birth right to criticize all non-indians. You will look like a DODO (an extinct species) if you follow that line.
Sorry for harsh words. But that's what I think.

Arya Samaj has revolutionised the Hindu religion, which nobody else had done for many times to come. The echoes of transformation preached by Swami Dayanand Saraswati can still be seen in the moder Hindu society. His criticism of some of the prevalent practices in the society, as having no vedic sanction was indeed meant for purging this religion of the obscurantist ideas plaguing this religion.

But, I have my doubts about the efficacy of strong criticism in bringing about the desired results. A well meaning, gentle admonition couple with a movement of people, to lead a life practising those ideals will do a world of difference to the society.Gandhi said, "my life is my message". Although Gandhi was ignored by his fellow country men, his voice remains as a voice of conscience of this nation and I am of the firm belief that we will some day turn back to him for regaining our glory.

Criticism is a great way to tell the other side that they are hurting others.

Only by criticising can you come to any logical decisions in matters of faith.

Criticism is healthy and will bring results whether it is emotional or not.

The problem is people do not like criticism. It is allocated as a vindictive method of making a point.

I wish people would take criticism with some logic and some integrity as the person criticising has the right to do so.

When others criticise us:
Criticism is one's best friend. Whether it is for right or wrong does not matter. Criticism exposes to a person another view of things. Hence it should be always welcome.

If we keep such criticising friends with us and learn how not to get offended, then they will help us from falling into traps.

When we criticise others
Criticism is simply putting forward another view-point. Hence try to put in your criticism more logically, less emotionally so that the other person understand ur criticism.

Most criticisms are couched with emotions and the meanings get lost in the emotional battle.

criticism is healthy but has limits it should be limited to a certain point so that as community grows he may also be made thoughtful about rectifing his mistake.
note everyone has freedom to think and react sole critisim without understanding other is useless.
