I have an abcessed tooth, braces, and some wisdom teeth that are all causing me pain...plus a swollen gland. I just took 2 Vicodin at 12:00 AM......its now 1:03 AM. Will it start working soon? I crushed them up and put them in a drink...(Diet Mountain Dew.) What else can I do to feel better????

My advice would be to consult your dentist ASAP! Do not take the Vicodin unless it was your dentist that prescribed it,& take it only as directed. I find that an ice pack applied to the sore area, for no more than 15min. at a time, helps reduce some of the swelling. For some people, heat helps. I sure can relate to you. I had a root canal done this week, and had a lot of pain from it with headaches. I returnd to the dentist and I needed antibiotics and a pain reliever. So please return to the dentist for help! Hope you feel better soon!

Until u can get to a dentist...No more vicodin!
in the mean time, lay the infected side on a heating pad. This will ease some of the pain. well, at least it works for me.

Well so you have any orajel? I know that this helped me. Maybe you can also try to put a warm wash cloth on your cheeks to help with any swelling. The pain medication should kick in! I know it hurts, but just hang in there!
