Most of the time its just in your genes, but i have seen skinny teenage kids with two fat parents.....?You could take after your grandpa or great grandma and not your parents...just depends i guess. My dads side is pretty skinny and my mom and all 7 of my aunts are bigger, i got my moms height and my dads fast metabolism. You can also train your body to have fast metabolism too...when you look up stuff about dieting or eating healthy you will find things that tell you how to get your metabolism going, thats why they say to eat breakfast within 1 hour of waking up,the earlier you eat for the first time of the day....it jump starts your metabolism for the day, plus you'll feel better.

Mostly genetics. However, the more muscle mass a person has, the faster their metabolism. You can increase your metabolism by increasing your muscle mass. Muscle burns a lot of calories, even when the body is at rest. The best way to increase muscle mass is by lifting weights.

genes, baby! I'm 5'9" and weigh 106lbs, everyone thinks I'm anorexic! But it's all in the genes. I also eat like a horse with no weight gain, which sucks for me because I would love to put on at least 15lbs.! I am an adult, by the way. Just so you don't think some gawky teenager was talking here. Have a good one!

it's hereditary. i have a fast metabolism and so does my brothers and sister and my parents. i am 21 and i've never weighed over 105 pounds. i'm 11 weeks pregnant and i weighed 92 pounds when i got pregnant. i've been to the doctor about my weight and he says i'm perfectly fine i just have a fast metabolism. no i'm not anorexic or anything like that.
