I did. My friends used to think I was nuts when I would drive from El Paso to San Diego a couple of times a year. Very reliable.

I didn't have the vw beetle as my first car but I did have a Saturn Sl1 as my first car.

Mine was. I loved it. I still remember how to juggle pressing all three peddles at once to get it going on a hill.
