Absolutely!!! Sleep is a precious thing. There are many prescription sleep aids that can help you fall asleep and stay asleep. Talk to your doctor. Some meds are Lunesta & Ambien.

Take a little time to keep a chart of your waking and sleeping habits. Try waking about the same time each day and going to bed about the same time each night without napping during the day. About an hour before bedtime, start keeping everything low key and quiet [pre-bedtime is not the time to exercise]. When the hour comes that you have decided is your bedtime [remember 7-8 hours is adequate for an adult], make the room dark and quiet and climb into bed. Don't use this time to sort out the days problems...rather, think about a story you like, counting backwards from 999, praying, or repeating a word or short phrase until you drift off to sleep. If you awake before your alarm, don't watch the clock...return to counting or the like. You might even try relaxing your muscles one by one while laying in bed. Start from your toes and work up to your forehead.
If you fail in your efforts to get a good nights sleep, by all means see a doctor to rule out any serious problems.

A routine will help psych you into readiness for sleep. Try to eat at approximately the same time every day. Try to go to bed at the same time every night. Stay out of the bedroom until you are ready for sleep. Don't allow yourself to get over-tired. It works backward and makes you feel "wired."
Don't sit around all day. Exercise, but not within 3 hours of bedtime.
Trust me, routine will help you habit-train your mind.

Have you lost hopes in life? Are you stressed?
The thing you are describing to me sounds like symptom of stress or depression. Try to relax and make some exercise. If this continues then go to see a doctor.

Yep it is worth it.
If this has been a problem for longer than a couple of days, and it is affecting your daily performance..
then you won't be faulted for going in and getting some help.

What the hell...he may be able to help. Yes, I would tell your doctor. See if he can prescribe you something to stay asleep.
