Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me before people I will be ashamed of you before my heavenly Father"

Thankfully I swallowed pride, got some guts and made Him my Lord and Savior. The more time and experiences go by it really is easier to live for Him.

Pride? No. That's a spiritual roadblock.

Shame? Don't have any. Most humans are inherently good.

I guess that it would be the example set by the followers that puts me off. That and the fact that there are no historical records from the time of Christ to confirm the tales in the Bible.
A trial as big as that would have left some records. I mean, OJ Simpson has made it into the cultural history books, I'm sure Christ would have made the news of the day.

yes, especially people that feel they know it all and have it all figured out---Darwin---you know Darwin right--well after attempting to disprove the Creator and His hand at creating everything in this world---he wrote a book on the subject of evolution, anyhow, when he was close to passing from this world he repented for what he had said against God being the creator of all and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Somehow no one tells this to those "know-it-alls" and how sad it will be when the end comes for they will die and be cast in to the lake of fire which is a place created for the devil and for those that do not believe in Jesus---1Jn.5:12 what an ugly way to spend eternity; oh by the way there will be no party in hell so some people need to rethink where they stand. Still, some of those reading this tend to disbelieve what they once believed to be true because they have been hurt in some way---physical or emotional. But they need to get out of this pain and seek the right path--accepting Jesus.
keep the faith and continue on believing. GBY

Pride? Yes, I have enough self respect not to let myself become deluded by fairy tales.

"For God so loved the world that he tortured and murdered his only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him shall forever be brainwashed." Michael Jackson 3:16

I practically have no pride. Besides, what would I be ashamed of? It's not like I've committed the worst offenses in the bible...

Besides, who gives a damn? Go to heaven. Have fun. Just don't tell me about it. I don't give a rat's behind. Let me burn in Hell. I want to. I want to be Satan's b*tch. I want to eat flames for dinner and die before dessert... every day.

What may honestly prevent me from believing that "Jesus Christ died for" me? Well, I can't possibly believe such a stupid story like that. The "Saint Mary" was a virgin?! Ha! She was more knocked-up than a cheerleader at a high school prom afterparty! If the little wh*re existed, she probably decided that it'd be best not to tell anyone...

She and her husband were both most likely schizo... or conniving. They must've told everyone that she was a virgin just so they would'nt stone her to death (were they married, after all?). When she had the child, she must've convinced him that he was the messiah... and the little moron must've gotten brainwashed, too.

My intelligence, questioning ability, dissent, logic, reason, and empirical perceptions prevent me from accepting such a ludicrous story. I can't fathom such stupidity; I apologize.

Besides that, the ONLY christians I ever have problems with are the ones such as yourself: the ones who try and convert people or make them see the "light of Jesus/God." Likewise, they're all STUPID! They have no capacity to learn or accept new ideas. They're braindead. They're vegetables! Why can't I sauté you? Evangelists and Proselytes want to scare us into not attending the weenie-roast known as "hell." Do you all want to be the ones who roast the non-believers? If so, (like I said,) why can't I sauté you, you little vegetables?

Evangelists and Proselytes (I'm including you, because you're trying to convert us...) are not Christians. True Christians know when to shut the hell up and they don't impose their beliefs on people. They don't stuff things down your throat and they don't force you to leave a place because you're irritated by them. They're quiet people who practice what they practice. They go with the principle: to each, his own. This is why Evangelists and Proselytes aren't Christians. You're all Pharisees.

And I can almost guarantee you that the best answer is going to be one which supports the "christian" agenda, even though it's strictly Pharisee. Go ahead. Pick a fundamentalist, god-loving answer. I'll eat my heart out and burn in hell. Woe is me.

No, my pride and my shame are my inheritance from Adam, and I hope that these would only encourage me to accept the Christ as the "only begotten Son of the Father". Which I do. Eagle.

If Everyone Cared
Lyrics - All The Right Reasons :.

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you’d be mine
But here we are, we’re here tonight

Singing Amen, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I’m alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We’d see the day when nobody died
And I’m singing

Amen I, I’m alive
Amen I, I’m alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We’ll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen I’m alive
Singing Amen I’m alive

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and SWALLOWED THEIR PRIDE
We’d see the day when nobody died
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and SWALLOWED THEIR PRIDE
We’d see the day when nobody died

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and SWALLOWED THEIR PRIDE
We’d see the day when nobody died

We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day when nobody died

For others it does. But if you really want to but can't in the middle of the crowd accept Him as your Savior inside your room or a private place. Where you will really feel His presence at the same time feel comfortable.
Go ahead accept Him, it might be hard at times but with Him by your side assure you that there's always someone you can lean on to.
God Bless You...........;p

Yes, it can happen. It almost happened to me because I used to believe that I was a Christian because I believed in God and thought I was a good person and I was born in a Christian family.

Well, being born in a Christian family doesn't make anyone Christian any more than being born in a garage makes someone a Cadillac.

I finally put my pride aside and got saved almost six years ago (will be six years on Aug. 6th).

No...I'll take my pride over Jesus anyday of the week. So far as being ashamed...you really should consider not trying to convert us that don't care to buy into the crap that religion offers. I want to believe in God (if there is one) and I don't need an intermediary (Jesus) to do that. The only route to God is directly to him/her/it. JESUS IS FALSE! PEACE!
